Trey Mancini had NFBC players baffled for their FAAB.
The variance in bids to roster Mancini spanned from Eight to 369 dollars.
Mancini has homered seven times in just 12 Major League games.
The only thing hotter than Trey Mancini is Mancini's bat. After Mancini homered for the second time yesterday, Craig Gentry took Mancini's bat to the plate.
He homered.
Manny Machado then said, 'You know what?' 'I'll try it'.
He homered.


Luis Severino was available in one league.
The cost?
$665.

Eduardo Rodriguez wife is having a baby as it was Rodriguez turn to start in the rotation.
NFBC owners can be pardoned if they echo Mike Ditka- like sentiments....
'HAVE BABIES ON YOUR OWN TIME!!!'

Two homers in two different games for Mancini....fits for Trey.

In case you may be thinking that it's unlikely for a rookie to hit two homers in two games in April, it is.
BUT, it happened just last year with Trevor Story doing the same.
And it happened in 2014 with Jose Abreu.
But then again, the only other rookie to have done that in the past 141 years was Carlos May in 1969.

Bartolo Colon and R.A. Dickey won games for Atlanta over the weekend.
They were the oldest tandem to win back-to-back games since Nolan Ryan and Charlie Hough in 1990.


Eric Thames has 27 homers in his career.
He hit five in a four game series at Cincy.
Of the 27 homers collected by Thames, 21 have come in just three different parks.
11 in the Rogers Center, Five at Safeco, five at Great American.....
And a bunch in Asia....

Every game in the Mets-Marlins four game series over the weekend was won in their teams last at bat.

For years, JJ Hoover owners have dropped him complaining of Hoover suckage.
This year, a pitcher has sucked worse than Hoover and was dropped in many NFBC leagues this week.
Sam Dyson.
The competition will always be fierce.

The Pirates swept the Cubs at Wrigley Field over the weekend.
The Cubs did not lose two games in a row last April.

Carlos Martinez walked eight and struck out 11 vs. the Yankees.
With pitch counts in vogue now, this was a highly unusual line.
The last pitcher to have as many walk and strike outs in a game was Randy Johnson with 14 k's and eight walks in 1993.
Before Johnson, it had happened several times.
Nolan Ryan did it 13 times.
Once, in a no-hitter.

One more note, Dave Clum is a respected owner who has been with the NFBC since the start, I believe.
His Main Event team started...
1. Arenado
2. Story
3. Cano
4. Cruz
5. Lucroy
He followed up that great looking start with pitchers like Gausman, Manaea, Osuna, and Treinen later.
Dave is dead last.
The moral of that story is that it could happen to anybody with any team.

Nothing like setting up your bids for a player on Saturday night and realizing you're going to have to triple them on Sunday afternoon.

Thats the main event I am in. I put in a nominal bid of 435, i needed pitching but felt like i needed to bid something just in case, at a certain price everyone has value.

Happy bday to my buddy Dave Clum. Might be one of the nicest guys in this game. A Clum team will always have FAAB money in the second half, deep pockets at the first and second break of the auction, a big offense, terrible pitching on paper, and a surprisingly good pitching staff at the end of the year. Happy bday big guy

I had a great time sitting across from Dave at an auction a few years ago. Very quick witted and clever fellow.

Not at all accurate. I am not that nice. I remember years ago in Tampa. First time that I met Kent. After my 4th pick Kent lets out with Damn Dave why don't you get some offense

I don't know Dave's time in the forty, but I can add to his scouting report. The man is a fantasy-playing stud. A couple years ago, I had the pleasure of doing back-to-back auctions with Dave in Vegas. I meet him before the first one that was held Thursday night, and I asked him how his day had been. He told me about being up all night flying a couple red-eyes from Florida. The auction was a long one that evening, I remember not getting back to my room until well after midnight. The next morning we were back at it again with another auction. I figure Dave had, at the most, 6 hours sleep in two days. Through it all he was the most enjoyable guy to be around, so yes, he is that nice. And, oh yeah, he kicked everyone's butt, walking away with the second auction by about 20 points.
Anyways, Happy Birthday Dave.
