This tweet is a few days old but it is still relevant. I found it fascinating for numerous reasons. And I hate that we as baseball fans cannot simply enjoy a feel good story/performance anymore but we are long past the naivete of 1998 & the steriod era. So the question must be asked, or, rather, implied.

Yea apparently that Saint John Lackey also made some snide comment about it. As a novice lifter looking at Thames even with a baseball jersey on you can tell he's damn built but until the guy fails a drug test I'll enjoy the fact I have him in half my leagues. Seriously gives you a weird bond with a player like that, like " I always believed in you!"

A lot of folks say that innocent till proved guilty is a right.
Really, that is only for court.
Until then, it is much harsher, It is public opinion.
Lackey has every right to question Thames. Everybody does.
Heck, with Lackey's longevity, Thames could question him as well.
For fantasy players, it's amusing. We are drawn closer to the players drafted.
We'll defend them.
We don't know any more about this player than anybody else, but still, we defend him because he is 'our' guy.
During the height of the steroid era, I had a disagreement with a fellow who rostered Jim Thome.
He argued that Thome was not juicing, 'just country strong'.
('Just Country Strong', man, that would be a great title for a country song!)
Six months later with the season over, he sent me an e-mail stating that in his heart, he knew Thome had to be juicing, but felt the need to stick up for him.
We are a funny lot.

Ha!
My wife likes to tell me that there is a whole world out there beyond baseball.
She may be right!
