I think there would be a lot of interest in a 2nd Cutline Contest that would begin after the All Star Break.

Of course there would be no playoff portion like the Cutline Contest that begins at the start of the season. It would be whoever has the most points from after the All Star break until the end of the season winning both the league and overall prizes.

It would allow for those teams who believe they have no shot at winning whatever contest they are currently involved in a 2nd chance at winning some money and keeping their interest and excitement about the rest of the baseball season alive (as well as those who have a good shot at winning whatever contest they are currently involved in a chance to draft again - which everybody loves - and increase their excitement about new players to draft).

It would bring in more revenue for the NFBC (possibly even from individuals from other fantasy baseball sites).

Since the Cutline format has only 2 FAAB periods and there is no requirement to set starting lineups, it would not take away from Fantasy Football preparation or Fantasy Football drafts.

Since the Cutline entry fee is already fairly low at $125 for the whole season, maybe this could be lowered to $100 for just the 2nd half of the season.

I imagine that something like this would only be successful if the prizes were big enough. So, the online drafts would probably have to start in mid May or the beginning of June and run through to the end of the All Star break to make sure there are enough participants.

This is just an idea and of course Greg and Tom would have to work out all of the details and decide if something like this would even be feasable.

Just as an aside, it would be interesting to see who would sneak into and who would fall out of the top rounds of the draft.

Would Aaron Judge, Dallas Keuchel, Eric Thames, or Ryan Zimmerman sneak into the top 2 rounds?

How far would Miggy fall with his injury problems so far this season?

How about Trevor Story (batting .170), Charlie Blackmon (1 sb).

Would Trout and Harper now be 1 and 2?

Who would take Bumgarner and Syndergaard's place as some of the top pitchers drafted early?

It would be a lot of fun to see the new ADP of some of these players..

We used to run mid-season contests -- we called them Second Chance Leagues -- in the early years, but we struggled to fill up even 2 or 3 leagues at one point and stopped offering them. We don't have any plans for these leagues this year under STATS' software, but it's something we can consider next year with our new software. We always loved running those drafts during the All-Star break and wouldn't mind starting those up again in 2018. Thanks for the suggestion.

We had two formats: A 15-team Satellite League containing only second half stats and then a Don Mathis League that was 15 teams and drafted at the break but included all first half stats as well. That was a cool, cool league, but interest waned on both. $150, $250 leagues were the price points. Hope that helps.

Pretty much everyone out of the cutline, or any baseball league, at the all-star break are turning there sites to football.
