I think we have all seen starting pitching get pushed up draft boards in the early rounds. That has been precedent for a while. I predict another trend will develop and that is people drafting that 8th or 9th starter in rounds 20-23 when in the past you were filling out your offense. Essentially saying I can fill 5/OF, U, 2/C, and middle infield in rounds 25-27 enough to get at bats and hope to improve it with FAAB. If you have an entire starting pitching staff without an injury right now consider yourself lucky. Your post last week that nothing but garbage is coming to replace these pitchers was also spot on.

It is kinda cool to see the changes in NFBC drafting since the beginning.
Seldom were pitchers selected in the first few rounds. If so, they were special.
Since then, pitchers have infiltrated early rounds more and more as years go by.
'Waiting on pitchers' was a mantra for experts, seldom seen now.
I believe you may be right.
That eighth and ninth Starter could look a lot more valuable to drafters than a final middle infielder or outfielder.

Another after effect for this year is that batting statistics will be on the rise.
The combination of warmer weather and inferior Starters make for a grand combination for high scoring games.

Two teams and I have barely 18 healthy pitchers. In the Main I lost Kluber, Kelley, and Chen...this week. Catch a cold...10 day DL. Quickie Mart chili dogs...10 day DL. Bad hair day...10 day DL.

We've lost the 250 inning pitcher. We've lost the complete game, and we've even lost the seven inning pitcher. And the 33/34 start pitcher may now be gone.

This is interesting and scary stuff from the two of you and couldn't help but get a reaction from me.

It IS still possible to wait for pitching, especially with this year's train wreck in the SP top 40, BUT if people double-down and take pitchers early AND late (rounds 17-23), Jesus, that would be game over for the people who usually wait for SP bargains, self included. Thankfully we have 11 months for people to totally forget this thread.

Paxton was one of five pitchers I put on the DL in the Sirius Hosts League last week. Then I almost traded for another (Amir Garrett) who got demoted on Sunday.

Oh, in case you're wondering - yeah that team is done in early May.
