Joey Votto just took the bat off his shoulder and swung (and missed) on a 3-1 count! For Real!
Yes...he eventually walked and it was to lead off an inning.

One of the worst cripple hitters in baseball. He sure has done well early in counts though.
26-65 (.400) on 0-0, 1-0, 0-1 counts.
This year, he is 7-45 (.155) on 2-0, 3-0, 3-1, and 3-2 counts.
Maybe pitchers should just start him out with two balls right away?

Probably not a bad strategy.
