Fact Or Fluke: Aaron Judge Will Duplicate 2017's Numbers

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Nov 09, 2017 10:11 am

The guys at BaseballHQ.com do a great job of providing a Fact or Fluke panel at each Arizona Fall League Symposium and it always creates great debate. We need a little of that here on the NFBC Message Boards, so I'm stealing the idea and will create many of these throughout the off-season. Let's start with the most interesting subject for 2017: Aaron Judge.

Let's get to the facts:

Aaron Judge had an ADP of 349 and he was the fourth most productive player in the NFBC last year. He was second in the majors in Home Runs (52) and Runs (128), while hitting .284 with 114 RBI and 9 Stolen Bases. He hit .329-30-66 before the All-Star break, but only .228-22-48 after the break. He also struck out 202 times, including 99 times after the break when his strikeout rate soared over 32 percent. Even though it has no fantasy implication, he became a rock star when he dominated the Home Run Derby at the All-Star Game in Miami.

Judge has gone 3rd and 4th in the first two pay NFBC drafts and it looks like he will be a first round pick in 2018.

But: Should he be a first round pick? We look forward to any and all comments to that question on this thread.

Please respond to the poll here on whether you think Aaron Judge will have Top 15 value at season's end and then let us know where you think Judge will and should go in 2018 NFBC drafts. Any and all feedback on Judge's prospects for a sophomore season are welcome.

We'll tackle Judge, but more polls are coming. Cody Bellinger is next. Thanks all and let's have fun with this exercise. Bring on the opinions and the posts!!
