Instead of doing the reserve rounds on RTSports in the chat like we have in the past we'll finish up on our site as a 2-hour DC beginning tomorrow. Darik will enter the results from the first 23 rounds tomorrow and then we'll start the DC to pick the reserve players. That way everyone will know who's available rather than all the guesswork that goes on using the RT site.

So plan on the DC for the final seven rounds beginning on Friday. Thanks.

I love this change.

Tom buys bats harper and buxton early while Darik grabs Strasburg. Greg is just pounding Coronas at this point

If it was Friday night, I'd type a little longer but I'll leave you with a few thoughts:

I had to fight for everyone except Tucker Barnhart.

Best deal and worst deal for my team only: Story for 9 (best). Treinan for 11 (worst). Seeing some other closer prices, I think I could've saved a little there.

I didn't expect to spend 94 on pitching.

Felt like I had a great team at the 7 rd break. Then, I lost bidding wars on several players and I think my batting average fell apart.

What an ironic day to see Honeycutt go for 21 (in his defense, i think he was filling his last roster spot).

Speed, even the promise of speed, was expensive. I felt fortunate to get Margot for $16. I thought Melancon for $8 was pretty nice. Biggest regret was not pulling the trigger on another 6-8 dollar starter. I had the money to do it, hence Mikie the Mahtook's big price tag. Second biggest regret was letting Tom get Javier Baez for eight bucks. I know it looks like we were going easy on him, but I suspect it was some form of mass hypnosis.

Here's my team. Not sure if I love it or not. I loved the start of the auction. I got Harper, Buxton and Greinke and even saved a bit of money on them. I REALLY wanted Correa but Greg pushed him way above what I wanted to pay and that's when everything changed. I'm fine with Lindor as the backup plan to Correa but I really was hoping to get shares of the Astros, Yankees and Rockies and I ended up with none. I was also targeting Travis Shaw but his price also went way above what I thought was reasonable so struck out there too.

My goal for pitching was two aces and a strong No. 3. But when all the No. 2 SPs went for more than I wanted I ended up overpaying for Nola, who I like but not for $28. That killed my hopes to get a strong No. 3 SP. I was targeting Stroman and could've gotten him if it wasn't for the Nola overpay. Maybe I'll get lucky with Santana for $5 if he's not hurt too long but I'm not crazy about my SP rotation.

I did think I hit on some decent low-price guys late like Duvall, Hanley, Pedroia, Maybin and even Thames. But even getting a couple guys I really wanted like Taylor and Santana cost more than I hoped which I feel offset any potential gains.

So overall, fun auction but no clue if this team will be any good or not.

C: Mike Zunino $7
C: Wellington Castillo $9
1b: CJ Cron $1
2b: Brian Dozier $25
3b: Josh Donaldson $28
SS: Zack Cozart $3
CI: Kyle Seager $13
MI: Jonathan Schoop $16
OF: Lorenzo Cain $17
OF: Nick Castellanos (3b) $15
OF: Kevin Kiermaier $11
OF: Delino Deshields $8
OF: Odubel Herrera $6
UT: Eduardo Nunez (2b, 3b, OF) $8

SP:
Jacob deGrom $28
Luke Weaver $14
Zack Godley $12
Taijuan Walker $8
Sean Manaea $3
Tanner Roark $2

RP:
Raisel Iglesias $15
Arodys Vizcaino $9
David Robertson $2

Thoughts:

Feel good about where I'm at for HR and SB. Average a bit shakier. Considered punting it midway through (rostering Zunino can do that to you), but couldn't commit. Hopefully have enough there to stay middle of the pack. I suppose there are worse shortstops than Zack Cozart?

I gave in and overpaid for an ace since you seemingly have to in order to get one. Kind of wish I hadn't, but overall pleased with the pitching.

Should be a fun league - good luck all!

I really like your team. I think that's a good price for Degrom with people going cray cray over some of the top SP's and shittier ones that go for too much because they're "in" right now. other favorites:

3b: Josh Donaldson $28
2b: Brian Dozier $25
MI: Jonathan Schoop $16
OF: Lorenzo Cain $17

its a good team but you may have undersold SP again......your top 2 will be fine.....and maybe Gio does what he did last year...but its your SP4-SP6 that is hurting. I'd go heavy SP in the reserve rounds

Was definitely not the plan but like I said, the Nola overpay killed me. Once that happened I knew my SP situation was gonna be a mess. I should've laid off him and tried to get a couple of $15 pitchers instead but that's what I've done in the past in this league and it's never worked out so getting two top SPs was my priority. Unfortunately, one of the problems with an auction is players go over their value and if you get caught up in that you can get screwed.

This was like going to the dentist's office for a root canal. Thanks for the pain boys. With any luck I'll be able to defend my 13th place finish from last year, but even that might be tough. Yikes this was tough.

C- Sal Perez $12
C - Matt Wieters $2
1B - Edwin Encarnacion $24
2B - Robinson Cano $15
SS - Carlos Correa $39
3B - Evan Longoria $5
MI - Corey Seager $23
CI - Justin Bour $5
UT - Jason Kipnis $2
OF - Starling Marte $22
OF - Gregory Polanco $13
OF - Josh Riddick $2
OF - Victor Robles $1
OF - Carlos Gomez $2

P - Dallas Keuchel $21
P - Jose Berrios $18
P - David Price $16
P - Michael Fulmer $5
P - Aaron Sanchez $11
P- Jake Odorizzi $3
P - Zach Davies $1
P - Ken Giles $12
P - Shane Greene $5

Too much health risk with Price and Sanchez and I wouldn't let go of Berrios for some reason, but shit happens when you wait on pitching in a 15-team league. Good luck all.
