!**! ALERT - J.Papelbon

Why in the world is J.Papelbon going so late in drafts? He has dominated the minor leagues and crushed major league hitters last year. He pitches for the Red Sox and will likely win 15+ games. Get him in the 7th or 8th round and enjoy the ride!

sounds good, but perhaps more important, is he better than peavy?

because...you may not be sure what you are buying.

If you choose Papelbon over other similar SP and draft your saves elsewhere, you may not be happy if Boston ends up going back to him during the season as the closer...given their "terrific" options right now....

C.Hamels is going in the 7th or 8th round. Papelbon is more major league experience and is less of an injury risk. Their talent level is about the same as well. Red Sox will win more games than Phillies. The Choice is clear to me...Papelbon over Hamels in 7. Easy call if you're using your brain.

We all know you are a truthful person, GG. We all can expect you to take Papelbon with your 7.6 pick.

He is a man of his word. So mark him down for Paps at 7.6.

Just don't let him pair up D. Lee at 2.10 with Arod at 1.6...

Why take Papelbon in the 7th when I know I can get him in the 8th?

As for AROD and Lee...muuuuhahahahahahah!!!!

Nah... You won't take pitching that early. You want to pounce on the hitting value...

4.10 Delgado

5.6 Matsui

Pitching to come next...

Since you locked up my CI spot with my 4th pick, can you lock up my utlity spot in the 7th by taking Giambi?

I just got a PM that enlightened me. King wants to take Papelbon in the draft, presumably in the 10th or 11th. I now see your misdirection tactic!!!

Folks, don't forget, Papelbon is better than Hamels, Cain, etc... And those players are going in the 7th, 8th, and 9th rounds. GET PAPELBON!!! :D

Consolidated look at Gekko's targets:

1.6 Arod

2.10 D. Lee

3.6 Furcal

4.10 Delgado

5.6 Matsui

6.10 Street

7.6 King Felix

8.10 Crisp

9.6 Haren

I found this classified information in a drawer of an old mural that GG gave to my close friend.

Along with it I found the following note "I desperately need D. Lee and Furcal. They are my keys to winning the $100K. I know I probably won't get Felix at 7.6. If he's gone, I'm going to snatch up Brett Myers who I'm predicting will win 18."

I wasn't going to share this with everyone due to our mentor/apprentice confidentiality agreement, but GG has gone too far with all his nonsensical player updates.

No soup for you!!!

oh boy!! you really did me in with that one.

the only one that i'd take on that list is AROD and maybe haren. most of the players were hurt significantly last year OR are already hurt this year. Don't sign me up for the All-Injured team. Won't happen.

1.6 Arod - quality and consistent. should go top 3 in every league, but hopefully will slip to me.

2.10 D. Lee - Derrek Lee was removed from Monday's game after two at-bats as a precautionary measure after he felt a twinge in his groin.

3.6 Furcal - Rafael Furcal is dealing with a sore right shoulder for the second spring in a row.

4.10 Delgado - Carlos Delgado had X-rays on his sore neck. Also, Carlos Delgado says he is only about 80-85 percent following offseason surgeries on his right wrist and left elbow.

5.6 Matsui - Fractured left wrist last year. Power outage this year.

6.10 Street - Strained right groin last year.

7.6 King Felix - Bust last year. Hype exceeded results. Same story this year. Papelbon in the 8th or even 9th makes better sense.

8.10 Crisp - Manager Terry Francona said Monday that Coco Crisp's left index finger is still hurting after undergoing surgery on it in September.

9.6 Haren - Okay pick here.
