Bush league or fair game?

We have a guy on the turn doing this. Seems disrespectful.

Agreed. If everyone did that, drafts would take forever. Complete lack of consideration for fellow drafters if that’s what’s happening.

Put the name out there. If he's a repeat offender on recurring timeouts, I want to know who it is so I can avoid in future.

Cutline 4-hr started 108 hours ago, we’re waiting for pick 124.
Two or three owners are setting their Auto-1 frequently so it’s the rest who average more than an hour per pick.

Ridiculous.

Obviously fair game considering its within the rules. I'll never understand the "slow drafter" bitching. It's what you signed up for

The 4-hour limit is a courtesy. If every owner took the entire limit to make a pick a DC league would take months to complete.

If the slow poke logs in right now and grabs the SP just signed by the Twins, you’ll have your smoking gun
:?

The absolute worst response possible. It's attitudes like this that kill the passion within many of us for this format.

Luckily I don't play it but if there is a rule I can use to my advantage to win you bet your ass I'm doing it.

Good on him if he does. Probably has a leg up on the rest of the league

I’m sure there are very rare instances where Mr. Wait-for-News is discourteous to his league mates, drags out his pick in hopes of breaking news, and his prayers are answered. However, there probably also are multiple instances where Mr. Wait-for-News misses the breaking news because instead of being on the clock at the time, he is not precisely because he was an ass and delayed the draft earlier that day, or the day before, or the day before that. Sadly, in his self-absorbed world, he’ll probably never realize this.

Obviously, if you can’t make a pick because “life happens,” that’s one thing, but to be ready and able to draft but instead make the 14 other owners wait for hours in the remote chance that “news” happens is something else entirely. I try not to fuck with karma because she has a tendency to bite back.

Dick move. I think as often as it works out, they wind up overreacting to some faulty initial report and screwing themselves so it evens out. Minus the inconvenience to the competitors with enough confidence in their abilities that they don't feel the need to resort to cheap shit like this.

It is so sad. I started a 2 hour draft early yesterday morning. We are just starting the 6th round. A lot of players taking between an hour and two. It's a strange dynamic these 2 hour drafts. If you take an hour round in and round out it is a disaster regardless of what the max time limit is.

2 hour draft, day 3 in the 8th round. We've had 13 picks so far today. What is wrong with this picture? Greg, It's time to lower this slow draft down to an hour per pick in effort to beat opening day. I'm pretty sure we'll have to lower it from there.

Cut line started 3 days ago. We are on pick 72. I'm done with these leagues. I just can't understand why you sign up to draft and then literally don't pay any attention to the draft. It's bullshit.

Just like the MLB wants to capture the casual fan, NFBC wants to capture the casual drafter. I think that’s who’s joining most of the slow drafts.
They should beta test a 30-min clock slow draft and see how popular that is with veteran roto players.

owners slow down their picks during spring training. this is expected. frustrating as hell, yes. there are plenty of DC expresses if folks want quicker action :D

Most notably from Joe's comment, The Clock Doesn't Matter. You could make a 100 hr clock in a MTM or Doughboys league and it would still get done in a week or less. All the reduced clock does, individually or in total, is limit the sabotage the few can have on a draft. Everyone takes the max, even at an hour or 2, and these drafts take weeks.

With this said, figuring out the way to best respect and communicate with fellow drafter's, as well as utilizing the multi round queues now in place, should be the focus of improvement in the off season. Just my 2 cents.

I still think the success of these slow drafts goes through a total time clock by drafter. The problem with bring the clock down to 1 hour is that even if most owners can make 90% of their picks within 30 minutes, that one or two times where you have something else can hurt your team.

A total time clock by owner would really ensure that the draft isn't slowed down by 1 or 2 owners who take the full 2 hours for every pick.

2 hrs? Lol. That's on the 2 hr drafts. In the 4 hr drafts they take 4. If it was an 8 hr draft they take 8.

I dunno if the NFBC forgot to spring forward or what but our 4-hour clock just changed to a 5-hour clock after the last pick :?
