The weather has been the Star or the Bastard of the baseball season...
Depending on whose math we use, we now have as many or one less rain out than we had for for ALL of last year.
Even a domed stadium, doomed.
Mother Nature is giving the middle finger to players wanting an earlier schedule with more days off.
In 18 days of baseball season, all 30 teams have played just three times.

WGN News last night reported that Iola, Wisconsin had the most snow in the country over the weekend with 28.5 inches. That was before we got two more inches last night. It's surreal to have 30 inches of snow over a 48 hour period. Not only that, but it's April 16th. We look like Siberia in December right now.
They're reporting that the crappy spring weather is due to the Polar Vortex coming down from the Arctic. You don't mess with the Polar Vortex. It makes domes leak, it makes grown men cry and it makes baseball outside in April unbearable.
I know Major League Baseball doesn't want to have all games during the first three weeks played in southern cities and domes, and the majority of the games in the summer months in the cold weather cities. But damn, if MLB is going to start the season every year going forward in late March, the schedule has to be adjusted to make sure we play ball. They started the schedule early so that players get more off days during the season. Now we're looking at several teams playing multiple doubleheaders this year.
Not good. Stay warm everyone. I know it's bad everywhere, but it's even worse here in Iola. It's time for spring to start.

The Royals have two doubleheaders THIS WEEK -- one tomorrow versus Toronto, and another on Friday against Detroit.
