NFBC Message Boards

One of the things we've done a terrible job of through 15 years of the NFBC is showcasing our players at the live events. As someone who actually graduated with a photography degree, I'm embarrassed by the lack of photos I've taken through the years. Showcasing our live events should be among the easiest and cheapest ways to promote our contests.

Actually, I do have a lot of photos from the live events, but we never really found a way at STATS to display them. I'm not sure why we didn't create a Players Photo page, but we didn't. And I didn't post them on the Message Boards -- probably because I was too stupid to figure out how to post them -- and now we have very few images of our players at our great live events.

But let's put an end to that. I'll work with the IT group to do a better job of posting photos from our most recent live events and to take more photos. I know we're busy at the live events, but all it takes is a few seconds and a phone these days. It's not like the old days (I'm going to age myself now), where we brought enough 35mm film and looked at the images once they got back from Walgreen's. I can shoot them and post them in the same minute. Let's do it then.

My goal is to create that Player's Photo page on the site at some point for all sports. I'll have to dig back for some old photos and I might not even have them, but Tom and I will see what we can find. At the very least, here's a few from this season in Las Vegas. This one is a view of the Grand Ballroom at the Bellagio where we hosted 6 Main Event Leagues.

I didn't get a picture of all of our NFBC Main Event champions at this year's Las Vegas event, but this is from two years ago. Look at this motley crew of six past champions: Ken Norred & Dan Semsel, Glenn Schroter, Lindy Hinkelman, Dave Potts, Steve Jupinka and Dave Potts.
