Teams are decent, but what's up with the love for Corey Patterson? Last time I looked into my Magic 8-Ball, he was going to:
(a) hit 9th
(b) platoon
(c) hit .250
The stolen base potential is nice, but I'd rather have Willy Taveras (despite the lack of power) in the round you took Patterson.

R. Ortiz 2 well rounded teams.
NY: Great Speed. Little concern about .BA unless Helton rebounds to .320 plus. 1 closer but several guys who may become one. Pitching very high risk/ high reward (Putz elbow? Sheets injuries or CY young, Rich Hill unknown but high ceiling
Vegas: I prefer this team over NY. If your closers can stay healthy this team has a good chance to win its division. Main event? Tough to tell

That said, the 9 hole/platoon thing is going to hurt his counting stats -- steals included.
We'll agree to disagree on Patterson. I hope he does well for you and proves me wrong.

Not so big on the NY team mainly because I would not touch Hall in the 3rd or Helton in the 4th.
That Vegas team however gets a check mark in every column and would be a team I would not want to compete in a league against.
Now you and KOQ both love Hall- I just do not trust him to perform like a top 50 player. We will all know soon enough.

Maybe, he will even run a little more. I know the player picking 12th in the 3rd was bull$hit when Hall was picked. He could have taken Micheal Young, but he picked who I wanted in the 3rd and 4th. I took Helton because I had two players planned for rounds 5 and 6, but I didn't get either. I think Helton bounces back this year.

Patterson: AB 465, 45 SB, .301 AVE vs RHP.
AL EAST has 2 LHP, Pettitte & Kasmir.
Jay Payton SUCKS.
Tavars: AB 530, SB 33, HR 1, RBI 30.
Watch out for Steve Finley, Finley will steal PT away from Tavars.

Actually, Patterson hitting ninth on the O's isnt all that terrible. After the first time through the order he'll be hitting in front of a very good hitter and will have lots of steal opps. I think 15-20 dingers and 40-45 for Patterson is more than attainable

Including Pettitte and Kazmir, that's 5 out of 20 in the AL East -- higher than the league average percentage.
Assuming he stays healthy, I figure Patterson to get around 400 ABs.

Shawn,
My model produces the following for your New York team (batting on top):
15 - 12.5 - 11.3 - 11.1 - 7.4 = 57
6 - 3.7 - 10.3 - 10.6 - 9.8 = 40
This is without any of your toys on the bench playng or developing (ie closers). I can't imagine Wins really ending up being a problem for you, but the AVG is going to be tough to fix (.275).
Vegas team:
15 - 11.5 - 13.8 - 10.9 - 11.6 = 63
4.4 - 4.7 - 9.7 - 5.5 - 5.9 = 30
(w/Soriano (3rd RP)on bench & K.Wells starting). Like I said previously, great Offensive balance.

If he platoons he hit 300 against only right handers and well below the Medoza line against leftys. Take out the leftys and you get 300 without losing the counting numbers since he didn't get any against the leftys anyway.

It's not like he is dead in the water. 05 was a disaster for him. Last year he showed improvement with strikeouts against righties. I little more growth across the board and he might be in for a nice year.

Well since I have him in 2 leagues, although not the main, I hope your right. I don't think as most do that he will hit for a low ba. 2005 was the aberation. He was completly confused by too much advice and very poor hitting instruction from the Cubs coaching staff, if you want to call them that.
