TO THE IT DEPARTMENT

Post by TRAIN » Thu Jun 07, 2018 5:58 am

1. Whit Merrifield played his 10th game at OF last night and should now qualify at the position. So far this morning, he is not showing OF eligibility.

2. I suggest replacing the mostly useless "Avg" column to the far right on the Cutline "Overall Standings" page with the much more informative Daily + and - point moves "Chg" column that all of the other NFBC contests have on their "Overall Standings" page.

3. It would be nice to have 3 new columns on the Cutline "LEAGUE STANDINGS" page that would show DAILY "Batting Pts", "Pitching Pts" and "Overall Pts" for each team. Currently, the columns only show Overall points for each team.

Maybe you would get responses to your posts if your tone was better. If you have any non-cutline teams, you would see Merrifield does have OF choice for today's lineups, so phrasing a question of whether a new position can be obtained mid-week would be more appropriate then assuming the it department made a mistake. In regards to your other requests, it doesn't impact the contest at all, just your personal preference. There are 1000+ teams and differing opinions amongst them, so unless it benefits all or the large majority, i would assume non-critical items aren't going to be made a priority.

A recommendation for future posts - kill 'em with kindness. It goes much better in getting a response.

As you can see from the post title, it is addressed to the IT department. Are you a member of the IT department? If you are not, than mind your own business.

There is nothing in the tone of my post that is negative towards the IT department or the NFBC. If you interpreted it that way, that is your problem.

Agree with Train on removing the average column. I know it is used for the playoff part of the contest but kind of goofy to have an average on Monday that is lower than your average on Sunday. As the week goes...your average goes back up and then down again when you add another week to the denominator. Total points should be the standings sort.

Also agree that replacing that column with a points or positions gained would be great. It is the only contest that doesn't have the change noted.

Please?

What browser were you using? It is set up to do exactly what you are saying it didn't...when you copy a claim list and change the top player drop, it absolutely waterfalls through all the contingent bids (but ONLY if you replace the top bid, not any other).
