Last Week of FAAB: Good Luck Everyone

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Sep 20, 2018 8:32 am

Sunday marks the 27th and final deadline for Free Agent Acquisitions. Good luck everyone picking up players for the stretch run.

Also, just a reminder that everyone must reach the 1,000 Innings Pitched minimum or risk losing points in ERA and WHIP. In the NFBC Diamond and Platinum Leagues, the Innings Pitched minimum is 1,200 innings. I will be looking over that report today and reaching out to affected owners, so check your teams now and make sure you reach these minimums.

Also, just a reminder that in the NFBC stats are accumulated even if there is a 163rd tie-breaker game on Monday. Major League Baseball counts those statistics as part of the regular season and we do as well in the NFBC. There is no FAAB before that Monday game, but owners are able to set their starting lineups for that final period. There is a slight possibility this could happen in the National League, so plan accordingly.

Thanks all and good luck to everyone fighting for titles and money finishes.

Thank. God.

Uggghhhh......don't sleep on those of us fighting to stay out of last place overall in the Main Event and no-money-other-than-what-little-pride-I-have-left finishes. Without us, who respect 90 & run out our squibblers back to the mound, there are no Lindy Hinkleman's or John Pausma's so don't forget those who come back year after year for more abuse.

OVERRATED: John Pausma trying to pull another Lindy Hinkleman & take down the Main Event & OLC titles (all while maintaining first place overall in the NFFC Primetime). NBD.

UNDERRATED: COZ trying to stay out of last place overall in the Main Event. Uggghhhhh. I wish I could say I wasn't even trying but I am.

Anyone coming to Chicago next year, please come up and introduce yourself. I'll be the guy with the brown paper bag over my head.

When do the NFBC drafts start again?

Coz, that's the beauty of the NFBC. Most owners like you battle right to the very end, whether it's fighting for first place overall in the Main Event or last place overall. We all have those teams that JUST SUCK all year long, but thanks for pushing through the final game of the season. In Las Vegas for the football drafts, you told everyone your plight in the NFBC Main Event and that you were still pushing to move up. Kudos.

And yes we'll be back in Chicago if space is available. We are already talking about 2019 NFBC drafts and hope to have the site live earlier than last year or any year before that. We'll give you a chance to rest and enjoy the MLB playoffs and World Series, but the goal is to launch shortly after that. Stay tuned.

It would be interesting to have a report that shows players that have been on the disabled list for multiple weeks that remain in starting lineups the final month of the season. How many actual teams in each overall event have dead roster spots. I imagine the numbers would be alarming. You could take it a step further and identify the owners so that they can be avoided in the future.

Good Luck Everyone.

So we'll be able to set fresh lineups for that final Marlins/Pirates game on Monday, then? Because right now there's no Week 28 in the Set Lineups drop down menu, and that game has been on the schedule for a couple weeks. Or will the lineups remain locked as they were set for Week 27? Not trying to be pushy, just want to plan accordingly for the final FAAB period.

Thanks!

It seems crazy that MLB actually is going to make up that Marlins-Pirates game on Monday even though it has no playoff implications, but yes it's on the schedule as a makeup game. IT will add a Week 28 tab for that game under Set Lineup this week. Yes, everyone will have the chance to set new lineups for Monday to account for this makeup game. The longest regular season ever will continue for at least one more game this year. Good luck.

PIT-MIA on 10/1 officially cancelled, but there still could be some extended regular season games in the NL.
