Specialty league winners

Post by KJ Duke » Mon Oct 01, 2018 6:09 pm

Congrats to the winners below, these are stacked leagues with top NFBC players and always lots of fun in addition to being ultra-competitive.

DHDC 2017/2018 (final season of 2-year keeper league)
1st Jason Perkins
2nd Mike Massotto
3rd Ante Meich

2-yr combined score
1st Jason Perkins
2nd Matt Anderson

DHDC 2018/2019 (first season of 2-yr keeper lge)
1st Chris Cosley
2nd KJ Duke
3rd Bryan Vogel

MLBC (the contract league)
1st KJ Duke
2nd John Pausma
3rd Glenn Lowy
MOY Mike Massotto

For the full history of these leagues and rules/setup for anyone interested in future seasons see blog links below.

MLBC • https://mlbc10.blogspot.com/

Congrats to Pausma a regular participant in the MLBC league and new NFBC Main Event Champ! John, well deserved as a perennial top player in the NFBC. We had a back and forth battle for 1st for a couple months in the MLBC and I'm happy you were distracted enough by winning the overall to let me pass you in this one. :)

And congrats to Perkins who came back from a mediocre season one to sweep the 2018 and 2-year prize money in DHDC III, and Coz who had a miserable last-place finish in his prior DHDC but stormed back to dominate the 2018/2019 startup league.

Also of note Mike Massotto with a nice showing in two of these leagues against brutal competition, plus I know he had a great season in other NFBC leagues. I don't think I can joke about his FB prowess anymore, as he's been getting better in recent years and is outright kicking ass now. Well done Mikey!

Hope to see all you guys back for another season, I'll start planning these leagues again once football is over. I'm also working on a new league type that would to hosted by Greg in the big Bellagio suite, similar to the Gridiron league in football. It would combine elements of the Gridiron league (bidding cash for slots in the first two rounds) and the MLBC league (cost to draft players is based on their real life salary). We'd make this a fun annual event to be drafted at the front end of the big Vegas events as a get together with a home-league feel.

 Thanks for the props, KJ. Appreciate it. I have to admit, that of all of my NFBC leagues this year, the title I wanted most (outside of the MTM Ultimate of course ;) ) was MOY in the MLBC League. Just huge up against the phenomenal competition in this league especially my first year in. I still remember that faithful night of your texts harassing me on filling the last spot which I acquiesced to do at the last minute and grabbed it just a couple of hours before someone else reached out to you about taking it. :o Happy it worked out the way that it did.

And I really would prefer everyone just keeping the jokes coming on my FB prowess as you say. It will continue to help firmly cement my position as "The Most Dangerous Man in the NFBC" (Queue Mexican background music here) A danger to myself perhaps, but still a danger nonetheless.
