Last night while at the Bruins-Canadians game in Boston I had an opportunity to yuck it up with Keith Foulke who was sitting right behind me with Theo Epstein and Luis Tiant in a luxury box.

First, for those that own Foulke, he is cool as a cucumber and has the perfect temperment to be a closer. Second, he did have 4-5 Bud Light's at the hockey game after a 10-5 loss to Toronto, and they arrived into Boston at 5:45am the night before from Baltimore. So dont count on him for Saturday's game, I am predicting a blown save.

Bad news for guys like me that own Nixon. I told Keith I had Nomar and Trot and he said "you must be off to a slow start". He also added that Nomar will be back the beginnng of May and that he will be ok, but that Trot was not going to be back anytime soon. When I pressed him on Trot, he said, "it's not good" and "dont count on it (Trot)".

So there you have it. A one on one with Foulke. Very cool guy and said he was just talking to another guy in the box about the $100,000 Fantasy league. Funny stuff.

It looks like Foulke was right about Nixon - report if sidelined until June I believe. Foulke said not to hold my breath on Nixon. He may be right.

Not sure where you saw june 1st...this is the latest from the globe...

"After revisiting and reevaluating, I think everybody making the decisions feels like he can get more accomplished by staying there," Francona said. "He can get what baseball he needs to do done [at the school's athletic facilities], but he can also stay with the therapist and do what he has to do."

Nixon, who arrived for spring training more than seven weeks ago in pain, was sent to the spine center after a series of anti-inflammatory treatments failed to resolve the discomfort. Green has worked extensively with Anaheim right fielder Vladimir Guerrero, who was plagued with back problems.

Asked if Nixon bounced back well from his first light baseball activities last week in rehab, Francona said, "I think he's doing OK. He's just not ready to be here playing yet."

Team medical director Bill Morgan projected last month that Nixon could return about May 1. Asked if that remains feasible, Francona said, "We'll see. I'd like to have him tomorrow, but we have to let his body dictate when he's ready to play. He's killing himself to play. We just want him to be healthy."
