The REVISED methodology uses the original rank to determine the top 50, then each of these teams have their time-weighted points above the mean (original method) added to each year's points above the mean divided by their number of entries for that year. I don't need Doritos or even the thought of looking up Ann-Margaret's dress on the top rung to try and keep climbing.
(I know, I know, so politically incorrect)
It is awesome just to keep trying to get higher on this list.
There are a lot of four and five time Winners of the Main Event who are no longer in the top 25.
I know they're going to fight hard to get back to that status.
It just shows how hard it is to maintain dominance through so many years.

Well done, on the list, KJ.
I really do wish that the NFBC would just take this as the 'Official Leaders' list' and add it to the site.
Most participants already think of it that way.

Thanks for posting these updated Main Event Lifetime Standings KJ. I know how busy you are at work, so thanks again.

Yes, we definitely should create a link on the site for Lifetime Standings and link to these listings. The ultimate goal that we talked about with IT is to have a Lifetime Standings link for the Main Event and the other national contests as well. Having historical standings is very, very important to us and once we get all of our past data loaded into this new platform we will get that done. I'd love to have Lifetime Rankings like this where you rank players no matter how many years they've competed. But it would also be cool to show everyone's ranking who has been in that contest for 15 years, 14 years, 13 years, etc., and compare their ranking to their peers who have been playing just as long. Once we have the data, we should be able to slice and dice that up the way we'd like.

And keeping that data for the Online Championship, the Auction Championship, the Cutline Championship and even the Draft Champions National Championship would be fun to see. It's all doable even for owners who take multiple teams as you rank them on their final standing per team. Would be great to finally get this all under our own umbrella.

We have discussed this with IT and it would be great to have. But first, heck, we need to return the lost year of 2010 to the data base. Then we need to get all teams from all years loaded in one location. Then we can hope for something like that. But until then, thanks KJ for this historical look and kudos to everyone who keeps ranking high each and every year. Well done.

Yes, awesome work on all of this KJ. Thanks for creating the system for this and sharing it with us. I definitely think any overall historical ranking system should incorporate the system that KJ put together in one way or another. A numbers guy who truly understands this game should be the one who creates the scoring system for these rankings in my opinion, and KJ as a top competitor, longtime innovator, and lifetime NFBC Member would do us all right on this project when the time comes.
