Al Reyes for at least the next 5 hrs, then Juan Salas for the next 161 games.

Stokes didn't exactly distiguish himself either. D-Rays offense looks ok. Pitching could get real ugly. When will they address this as a team? They s/b be ashamed of going into a season with this bullpen. Not to mention their starting staff. Dukes had a nice first day. I've got it, how bout trading an outfielder for a pitcher. Hmmm, maybe they haven't thought of that.

If not an outfielder, how about trading Jorge Cantu for a pitcher?

How about the Rays calling Colorado. They could use a 2nd basemann and have some middle relief to trade.

I think Tampa should call any team that has a pitcher with either a right or left arm still attached.

A little early to jump off the Juan Salas bandwagon, I think. There isn't an arm available in trade with his stuff. He threw 48.1 scoreless innings between AA and AAA to start last season. Who does that?

Also, Dear Maddon:

No matter how much man-love you have for Salas, how on earth do you bring him into a 7-6 game with a runner on second to face two future Hall-of-Famers, plus Abreu? Anyone who receives demerits for not acing that assignment needs a new manager. Also, please maintain said man-love for said player.

this actually appears too easy- so it won't happen: florida imho has one of the best front offices in baseball- along with the braves and whitesox. sox and braves go out and get guys to pitch the 7, 8th. florida has developed 4 in house. they need a center fielder. trade 2 of their good young set up guys for baldelli. one would be closer, one 8th inning guy. just seems too easy.

Al Reyes save #1 for rays,, 1-2-3 save, but threw too many balls to each batter

However, I do see some rationale, but think it will cost more than 2 RP's will little to no MLB experience. I think TB could get more for Baldelli. I think a quality SP, which FLA has plenty of, would seal such a deal.

I agree with CC about Salas taking over fairly soon. I was gobsmacked to see Reyes only throwing 89mph the other night. Granted he did have good movement.
