Ok, opening day (and night) are almost over...has anyone had that...only because I own him player?

I sat Adam Kenndy on the bench Sunday night, which was basically stupid because I could have reserved him for this week. I guess I missed it.

When do I notice, right after the game begins. When he comes up to bat...CRACK...and there it goes..."%#@&! Why didn't I start him?" The ball hits near the bottom of the wall. Triple! "Ok, at least it's not a HR, but damn it, he'll score a run!"

And the rotogods have returned to let me know another year...and the April Fools joke is on me, right?

Next pitch, failed squeeze and Kennedy is thrown out! :D Could be a good sign!

your going to be worn out by May , if you keep this " analyze this " attitude this early in the season. This is a Marathon, save your energy for after the All-Star break.

Will do, but c'mon...I can't be the only one that benches a guy, sees a hit and think..."should have started him." Or starts a pitchers who gets lit up and thinks, "Should have benched him!"

C'mon...where are the Contreras drafters...you know what I'm saying! :D

OK. I will be worn out in May, too.

There are thirty opening day starters. On average, everyone gets two, I have three. And not the "Pavano-esh" types either. I end up with three good starts. A little more than 18 IP (i.e. no one knocked out before becoming pitcher of record). Had 10 k's. Not great, but OK. Hits and Walks? 18 so a little under a 1.000 WHIP. ER? Four. ERA under 2. W-L-ND? Should be based on those number say 2-1-0 or 2-0-1. What did Millwood, Haren and Oswalt do? 0-2-1. At least I am consistent with last year. Looks like I will be drinking a lot of salty beer this year.

And what else do the baseball gods do?

Gil Meche and the KC Royals beat the pudding out of BoSox and Schilling. Nice.

For those Brett Myers owners out there, here is one for you. Myers pitches a gem and gets through seven (the only oops a two run shot to McCann). He has a one run lead, has thrown nearly 100 pitches, and will lead off the bottom of the seventh. Textbook opportunity to bring in the bullpen to close it out. How much faith does Charlie Manuel have in his 1-2 punch of Madson/Gordon. THE ROARIN' SOB leaves Myers in, who walks, has to run the bases, then comes in in the top of the eight, gets two but gives up a centerfield shot to Renteria (whom I have so there is some good luck after all for me), and leaves with the game tied and a ND.

I sometimes have to wonder.

It sounds like I'm not the only one pondering the first day actions? LOL So, as I stared down at the ground from the edge last night wondering if it will hurt when I hit. I began to wonder why I actually pick up in my auction Santana and Carpenter as my first 2 buys. Needless to say it wasn't a great start the first days for the ole' Nutty Scratts auction team. LOL

As I continued on thinking about the way down to the ground and what one thinks about as the ground approaches I realized I also had Schilling, Lidge, Derek Lowe, Webb on some of my other teams. I suddenly found myself closer to the edge.

I decided to look on the good side to see if the edge would get a little further away. I visually looked at my various teams and saw I had Renteria, Dunn, Ryan, Nathan, Hall, Harang, Willis and Sizemore spread out over my various teams. Maybe things aren't as bad ay they appear to be. All of a sudden the edge wasn't as close.

That being said, obviously since I typing this post, I backed off and decided to see how things play out. LOL After all the edge will still be there tomorrow for me to visit and ponder over this thing called the NFBC! ROFL

To add to my crying post. I am now up to four starts, 24 2/3 IP, 2.189 ERA, 1.095 WHIP, 14K and NO WINS....

I think the biggest problem with my team this year will be that the manager is crazy as hell. I started F. Garcia this week (latest report I saw before I set my line-up said he would probably make a start this weekend in Florida...whoops!), and didn't start El Duque (how could he pitch a game that well on the road against StL and not have any K's?). At least I got my trends right on Padilla (LAA owned him last year) and let him ride the pine. One for three. Got to do better than that to win this thing.
