NFBC 4-Hour Draft Champions Deadline: March 8th

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Feb 15, 2019 4:10 pm

We are on a record pace in the NFBC Draft Champions format thanks to the quicker timeframes and more nightly DC drafts at this point than ever before. Let's keep the pace going and keep drafts rolling along nicely.

The 8-hour drafts seem like they happened a lifetime ago...and a nightmare ago. The 4-Hour, 2-Hour and 1-Hour time frames have really helped a lot and made this format more enjoyable again. Everyone in the industry is copying this change right now and it's good for the players.

Unfortunately, the time frame for completing these 50-round monsters is still 14-20 days, so let's look at the calendar today and come up with a plan on when these will stop going off. At this point, I think it's safe to end the 4-Hour Draft Champions leagues on Friday, March 8th. That gives us 20 days to finish them, which is more than enough time especially with a 2-Hour clock for the last 20 rounds. So let's close out the 4-Hour Draft Champions leagues on Friday, March 8th. Sign up over the next three weeks if you want to get into this format.

We can probably go another week in the 2-Hour and 1-Hour formats, so around Friday, March 15th will be the last starting point for those contests. That's another 28 days to jump in.

Of course, we'll continue to have NFBC $150 Draft Champions Express leagues every Friday and Sunday night through the next four weeks and then more regularly over the last two weeks of the drafting season. We expect several $150 and $400 DC Express leagues to fill during that final week of drafting. Secure your spots now if you know you want to compete at that time.

We will also stop taking signups for the NFBC $50 Draft Champions Leagues on Friday, March 8th for the 4-Hour leagues. We will stop for the 2-Hour leagues shortly after that. Jump in soon if you want to compete in that private DC format with only league prizes.

Thanks all for making these drafts a much better experience this year. Having the multi-round queues and multi-round auto-pick features have been a real big help. The technology is so much better than what we had for this format in the past. I know we can finish these final drafts in time, but plan to draft on time if you jump into those final ones.

Thanks all and plan accordingly going forward. We're ready for another record-breaking season in the DC format, where someone will walk away with the $30,000 grand prize.

Just a heads up that Friday is the last day to enter the NFBC $150 and $400 4-Hour Draft Champions Leagues. We are not starting any of those leagues after Friday, so jump in soon if you still want to compete in this format. The same is true for the NFBC $50s with a 4-hour clock; those end on Friday.

We will still offer NFBC $150 and $400 2-Hour Draft Champions leagues a few days after that, but likely will end those on Monday or Tuesday, March 10th or 11th. After that we will only offer DC Express leagues. Again, jump in soon to the 2-hour and 1-hour DCs if you still want to compete in that draft 'n hold format because we are nearing the end of a record year with them.

We have already topped last year's final total of teams in the Draft Champions format, so a BIG THANKS to everyone for the great support this year. There's no doubt that the tech changes everyone requested has made this a much better product and a more enjoyable drafting experience for all of you. Thanks and enjoy.

Greg,

I’m in a 4 hour $400 DC where we are moving at a snails pace (2 rounds a day, barely into round 9). I assume you want this ended before the Japanese games, yes? If so, you may need to change the timer a few rounds earlier.

No, they don't need to be done before March 20th. All DC leagues must be done before the first games on Thursday, March 28th.
