Bench of players on the DL!

Well week one is in the books and my team is hurting! I already have two big names on the DL Nomar and Mauer. Furcal could be adding his name to the list this week too. I could have 3 of my first 10 picks on the DL (Catchers went fast in our draft). Because of this I have been blowing my FA money, 276 to date. I have made 4 moves: Enrique Wilson for Nomar, Gerald Laird for Mauer, Adam Everett for Furcal, also I made a move to upgrade Greg Myers who only played 2 games last week. Things are just not looking good early. I feel better with Furcal on the bench this week, the way my luck has been going he won't play all week. Sounds like he could play by thursday but that would only give him 4 games. Wilson and the yanks play 5 games this weeks so I take my chances.

So who else have been hit hard with the injury bug? A lot of big names are hitting the DL early this season.

Hey there ...

I had a rough first week as well. Lost Dmitri Young AND Desi Relaford on like Tuesday, I think. Which of course sucks outright, but REALLY sucks b/c you have sit there and look at zero production out of their slots until, mercifully, you can plug someone else in for the next period.

My team fared well, though. The beauty of a competition like this is that pretty much most teams will have at least one stretch like that. I hope I got mine out of the way last week! I guess it also underscores the need to draft players who have multi-position eligibility, b/c if your league is like mine, there are nothing but scraps left on the waiver wire, what with these "six deep" benches.

Good luck...

Count me on the DL bench bunch with Walker, Hunter, Lieber, and MacDougal with the Hunter hit smarting the most since it happened early on :( ...hmmm, of course the zeros accumulating with my walking wounded kept them on pace with LaRue and Rollins who kept the goose eggs coming  ...except they both were healthy and playing...

I'll join the whining...Nomar, Broussard and Scott Williamson but Nomar's the only one who really counts and when his backup, Jerry Hairston is on the DL as well, that hurts.
