I think Beckett and Harden have been the most dominating pitchers thru 2 starts.

Does this mean the odds of them having a good 3rd start is good or bad?

Would anyone consider benching them for thier 3rd start?

It seems to me that 3 good starts in a row is a low possibility.

Some of the pro gamblers out there can tell me if I am not wrong, but I was always told to bet with the streak.

I do not have either, but I might consider benching one IF I had a decent sub on the bench with a good matchup and IF they were going into a game where they would be pitching against their strengths (home/road split, history against the team, etc.) especially IF they were pitching in Arlington or Chicago.

However, I am the unluckiest guy when it comes to pitchers. Like last night...Gorzelanny pitches 7 IP, 4 H, O BB, 0 ER, 5 K and left with a two run lead against StL. No win. Darn.

Don- I have never benched one of my top 4 starters in this format unless they were in Colorado and I probably would not even do that with the new Coors field. I may begin making the exception this year if Ervin Santana cannot learn to pitch on the road- even then you have to ask yourself who I am I going to replace him with.

I did not get a chance to tell you goodbye at the draft- great to see you again and give Judy my best. Good luck in 2007!

ugh. I was thisclose to benching him this week but I thought there was a chance the Cle game would be moved to LAA. I figured let me roll the die and maybe we get a rain out in boston. Stooooopid. Now there's a good chance my Sunday will be ruined. Ruined Jerry ruined !

[/QUOTE]I benched Ervin once last year and regretted it. If I had Harden or Beckett I wouldn't bench them unless their arm fell off.

Ervin has major problems against CLE that stem from his first MLB game ever, when he gave up a cycle to the first four hitters.
