I've heard from a few people who attended our 16th annual NFBC Chicago auction and Main Event that it was a BLAST. I also heard that Dean was a gracious and fine host, of which I would expect nothing less. Dean's a good guy who loves hooking up with all of you.

I heard from one owner who has attended each of the different cities over the last three years and said this one was very, very special. As most of you already know, he said this one had like a home league feel to it as all the regulars warmly welcome in the new attendees. So good to hear.

Anyway, you haven't been forgotten on the boards, so let's hear how you congratulated and razzed our 2018 champions, John Pausma from the Main Event and Vince Clemente from the Auction Championship. Any and all stories are welcome here.

Did Jay Lyons leave any beer remaining in northern Cook County?

Chicago was awesome! I’ve never drafted in New York and I am sure that is awesome as well but hard to beat Chicago! It is indeed like a home league. So many players return year after year. It’s like a family except we all get along. We get to share in celebrations and difficult times. Vince and I got the royal treatment as returning champs. Much thanks to Dean for the nice words and much thanks to all the competitors for their nice comments as well.

The events started on Friday night with the auction. This year we had a new auctioneer - Jason Gill. Jason did a great job and things moved at a nice pace. Plenty of beer for Jay and not sure if such contributed to a lively exchange over the value of Ace Wade Miley. Food was great. Wonderful auction.

The main event was next up on Saturday and although it was only one league - it was tough! Albright, Brinkmanns, Cosley, Vander, Diedrich, etc. brutal. I was at 15 (15th choice - insert Gekko whine) and it was rough. Jay woke up in time for the food and we actually ran out of meatballs. Never underestimate the need for meat for the midwesterners!

Awesome weekend. Software was flawless. Dean runs a good show! If you get a chance - give Chicago a try!
