Draft Champions Overall Standings Issues

Post by jvetter » Fri Mar 29, 2019 9:04 am

Point totals for Draft Champions Overall Standing categories are incorrect.

Also the total number of teams is incorrect. Right now there are 3450 total teams listed. Should be 3495 if the owned % page is correct (233 leagues).

Draft Champions had a record number of 3,450 teams in the overall contest. We had three Arizona Fall League DCs that are free and not part of the overall contest, which is why you saw that number originally. We have taken them out of the overall competition.

I will post this in a separate thread, but we had 2,760 DC teams last year, so an increase of 690 teams this year for this format. That sure tells you that something improved in the last year. You could point to the technology, the new time frames, the readiness of the owners, a whole lot of factors. But bottom line is that this was a RECORD year for this Draft 'n Hold format and as a result more prize money is coming to the overall prize pool. Thanks all.

And as for the overall standings that weren't correct yesterday, we found the issue. It was something as simple as a comma being where it shouldn't have been in the programming, but that's now corrected and away we go. 179 more days of baseball games everyone!!! Enjoy.

That's a 20% increase which is amazing and largely due to the elimination of the eight hour clock.

How do we know that is the reason?

Nothing else really changed. Just doing the math, a four or two hour draft take less total time. This gives people more opportunities to join leagues. It also eliminates the nightmare 3+ week drafts that would often turn people off entering more drafts.

I'm aware there are still eight hour draft clock defenders, but the last baseball debate that was decided this conclusively was sabermetrics versus old school.
