NFBC Tech

Most of NFBC players have/had teams on other sites.
For the most part, the tech on other sites ...work....all the time.
The way it should be.
For me, technology should be like an umpire at a game.
If not hearing a word, then a good job is being done by the IT.
Greg has been hearing about technology for years from players.
Krause, FanBall, STATS, Sportshub and browsers, servers, platforms, etc.
It is stated that each company hopes to be better than the mediocrity of their predecessor.
It'll actually get better sometimes, temporarily.
Then, something always happens and we're back to where we were again.
This year, many 'features' have been trumpeted. And that is great. It is.
But most of us just want the basic things we count on to work.....
New Free Agents should be appearing early each morning.
Our rosters are not nearly as clear, concise or time-saving as last year.
Dependable Live Scoring.
We want FAAB to not break down before the deadline and be swift when all tallies are in.
Record numbers of leagues were drafted in the NFBC.
We have seen less from technology this year than last year.
I surmised it would be better, not worse. Thinking that maybe more money was in the budget for the technical side.
Yet, we are only told that things will get better.
Technology is, and has been, the NFBC's achilles heel.
Plain and simple.
We, the players, still play. We love the contest. We love the competition.
We play despite the (lack of) technology.
When something goes wrong, our only recourse is to treat the Message Boards as a Manager would an Umpire.
At the next meeting with company heads, or IT, or whoever, can they be told that there is a wonderful base of customers here?
We're breaking records even with the uncertainty and little faith in NFBC technology.
They should be told that we stay through the thick (the leadership, the competition, the contests) and thin (technology) of the NFBC.
Please just ask these folks to do better with the basics of our game.
Once we have faith in the basics and are solely focused on our teams, we are happy campers.
Fix the things that need fixed. (Live Scoring)
Don't mess with things that don't need fixed (rosters from last year to this year)
Be consistent in adding free agents and having a smooth FAAB Sunday.
Those, are the basics.
Simple.
Yet, it seems so hard.
Servers, browsers, and platforms have been used as excuses or reasons for failure.
Excuses or reasons are not needed when technology is right.
