Basketball League Winners Announced

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Apr 19, 2007 2:39 am

In 2006-07, we put together three 12-team leagues that would mirror the National Fantasy Basketball Championship format in the future. The entry fee was $600 per team and we awarded the top three finishers. We'll combine the stats from the three leagues soon and announce the top team in the overall competition.

But congrats to our league champs: George Kleemann, Chris Fargis and Sammy Zahler. Great job all. Here's the prize winners:

1st place: $3,500

2nd place: $1,500

3rd place: $750

LEAGUE 1

1. Chris Fargis

2. Eric Wong

3. Roland Beech

LEAGUE 2

1. George Kleemann

2. Scott Williams

3. Eddie Gillis

LEAGUE 3

1. Sammy Zahler

2 (tie). Emmett Ruland

3 (tie). Jason Shapiro

The negative is neither Greg nor I even know what icing is - OK Greg might know but I don't have a clue. :D Seriously, it is something we've talked about and it's something we may pursue in the future. As always, it depends on interest. If the interest is there, we'll figure out a way to see if we can make it work.

Thanks guys. It was a lot of fun this year. Looking forward to the hoops competition growing in the future. Hopefully I can continue to find the Monta Ellises in the draft endgame and the Al Jeffersons in the free agent pool...

Yes, a real boneheaded move. I don't know about that. He was hurt at the time and as you mentioned, was not guaranteed playing time upon his return. Nobody knew he would do this. I got lucky on this one.
