Suggestion: Free Agents
Suggestion: Free Agents
I’m noticing that the player feed is getting updated more often than in the past as to when players switch teams. For example Profar is now listed as a Padre.
But for players that are not on a team’s major or minor league roster, can we have “FA” shown signaling a free agent?

Re: Suggestion: Free Agents
As long as free agency drags out now, this would be a welcome change.

The team designations come from our stat provider. I'm not sure they change from their last team to Free Agent, but I can ask.mdecav wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 5:26 pmI’m noticing that the player feed is getting updated more often than in the past as to when players switch teams. Okay so this might be a “garbage in, garbage out” scenario. You may want to ask if the stat provider has the ability to address when players are no longer on 40 man rosters (plus suspended and 60-day IL guys) or in minor league systems. Any player not on either should be designated a free agent IMO.Greg Ambrosius wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2020 10:26 amThe team designations come from our stat provider. Re: Suggestion: Free Agents
We manually over rode our stat providers' team designation today on many of the current Free Agents who are being drafted in the NFBC. They should show FA right now. As soon as they sign with a new team, the stat provider will over ride our FA designation. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Suggestion: Free Agents
Is there any way we can get a designation for Will Smith in the draft room? Maybe a P or C or maybe a ATL and LAD.
When selected, drafters have to go to the Draft Board or look under P and C to see which one was selected.
This is ok for now with the slower clocks, we have the time, but will not be good when 55 second drafts begin.

Are you saying in History it just shows Will Smith with no team designation?DOUGHBOYS wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 5:19 pmIs there any way we can get a designation for Will Smith in the draft room? Maybe a P or C or maybe a ATL and LAD.

That was easy, or seemingly so.Greg Ambrosius wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 3:38 pmWe manually over rode our stat providers' team designation today on many of the current Free Agents who are being drafted in the NFBC. History shows no team and no positional designations for Will Smith or all other players.

Re: Suggestion: Free Agents
Correct. We originally had both and it pushed every pick to two lines. You couldn't see many picks, so we agreed to take both out.
IT will add position designations soon and that should help. That shouldn't push each pick down two lines and should give enough information. Look for this soon.
