Most of the people who seem to know details are simply saying little more than we need to respect his privacy. A few people are offering words of support that seem to indicate this is potentially quite serious. That has a lot of random people tweeting and they're speculating about worst case scenarios. I understand it's not always easy to say the right thing and it's a very normal reaction to want to support your friend, but if privacy is his main concern at that moment, send those thoughts to him directly.
