On Wednesday we deleted and refunded 2,148 Rotowire Online Championship teams. It was a sad day indeed here!!

But we have to pick up the pieces and move on. So with the 60-game MLB season in front of us, we've created a new 2020 Rotowire Sprint Online Championship with a $25,000 grand prize. The entry fee is now $250 and we'll have special discounts for a 3-Pack ($700) and 6-Pack ($1,350).

League champions will earn $1,000 and league runner-up teams will earn $500. The overall grand prize winner will earn $25,000 and the prestigious title as national champion of our 12-team contest. The Top 10 overall spots will earn prize money.

Prizes are based on only 50 leagues and 600 teams. Let's fill this up and compete for the national title in this 12-team, 30-round format with FAAB. The season will be short, but we'll do all we can to make it rewarding.

Drafts will start on Wednesday, July 1st and run nightly through Thursday, July 23rd. The two MLB games on Thursday, July 23rd will be "free look" games as every owner in this contest won't have to set their starting lineups until Friday, July 24th. That allows us to host a full day of drafts on Thursday while two MLB games are kicking off the season. We can't wait for MLB to tell us when or who those games are as they've dragged their feet long enough for all of us.

The $500 league pays $2,700 to 1st place and $1,200 to 2nd place.

The $750 league pays $4,300 to 1st place and $2,000 to 2nd place.

Okay, the Rotowire Sprint Online Championship is like the Main Event right now. We have more than 600 signups, but they are spread over the next six days, so we definitely have more of this puzzle to fit.

It sure looks like we will get to 50 full leagues this weekend, but we'll honor the other partial leagues that have signups and finish this contest off in grand fashion. We will add to the overall prize pool consistent with the payout percentage we announced with more money going to 2nd place and down. Thanks all and good luck.

We had no idea how the response would be for this contest in a short season, but you've overwhelmed us. Thanks so much and if we can sell out the Sprint Main Event and the Rotowire Sprint Online Championship under these conditions we'll be more than fine. Thanks once again to everyone who wildly supported the Rotowire Sprint Online Championship. Not only did we go past our goal of 600 teams/50 leagues, but it looks like we are going to reach our max contest that we put on the rules page a month ago. We listed the odds of winning at 1 in 960, so we can not and will not go over 960 teams.

The overall prize pool will be adjusted at the same percentage and we'll update 2nd through the final overall placings, adding more payoff spots because of more overall teams. We originally were set for only 13 overall money winners, but we'll expand that once we know the final numbers.

960 teams equals 80 leagues, so we are shutting this contest off at that point. Secure your teams now if you can because we are within 150 teams of that number. We will start shutting off draft dates and times once we approach that total number, so plan accordingly.

Thanks all for your great support of this contest and the future looks bright for all of us if MLB can pull this off. I feel confident that they can and we'll be crowning several great champions in the NFBC at the end of this season. Good luck all and thanks again.

Just a heads up that we have just over 100 Online Championship entries left before we close this contest off Registration. Hopefully that's enough to get us through tonight, Wednesday and Thursday as several owners also have TBD entries yet. But if you are waiting until Thursday to jump into a league, it's possible that the contest will be off Registration. At least we hope so!!

We start today with 37 openings in four available Rotowire Sprint Online Championship leagues. We can not legally go any higher than 960 teams as that was the max number that we posted on the site. Once these 37 spots are filled today, and once those four leagues are full, we will take this contest off Registration.
