Should have tried to play in just a couple of cities. Players running around town in Miami, Tampa, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles......was just asking for trouble. We shall see what happens but I would expect all games to be canceled tonight. I'm still hoping for a miracle though.
Rogers Hornsby, Hall of Famer with the Cardinals was once asked " You love Baseball Rogers, but what do you do in the winter ? " His response......"I stare out the window and wait for spring "

This is what happens when there is not strong leadership/commissioner and it was all about greed and not thinking responsibly. It wouldn't have been the best for our fantasy game, but a schedule could have been created where no one plays 1 day a week (middle of week makes most sense). This would have given 10 days of cushion over the season and provided time to address the inevitable positive tests, rainouts, etc. Now with the greed, poor planning and the cramped schedule, there is no time to deal with the Miami issue/rescheduling games if everything hopefully works out and this is just an isolated issue.

How was this a Florida man when they supposedly went out to a club in Atlanta?

While I was holding out hope MLB could successfully pull this off, the first week has been nothing short of a fucking joke. Here we are spending thousands of dollars playing while taking ZEROS in our lineups because a whole MLB team is locked down, and of course the teams they were supposed to be playing against are ZEROs as well. Unfortunately, this ain't fantasy baseball and the integrity is up in smoke. This is a slot machine.

First week of the season, here's the games "postponed":
7/27 NYY vs PHL
7/27 BAL vs MIA
7/28 NYY vs PHL
7/28 BAL vs MIA
7/29 NYY vs PHL
7/29 BAL vs MIA
7/30 NYY vs PHL
7/30 BAL vs MIA
7/31 WAS vs MIA
8/1 PHL vs TOR
8/1 WAS vs MIA
8/1 PHL vs TOR
8/2 WAS vs MIA
8/2 PHL vs TOR

Don't have replacement players, tough shit, take your zeros. While I'm happy I can support the NFBC this year, I won't be back next year if COVID 20 pops up. Also at this time, I cannot fathom playing fantasy football this year and taking zeros because whole teams are quarantined or players test positive the day of a game.

Yankees and Orioles players did get to play and earn you stats during the first half of the week, so you might be overstating the zeros potential.

Will MLB allow Washington and Toronto to sit idle for 3 days? I'm guessing once today's game is completed there will be an official announcement regarding this.

Hopefully you were on top of the schedule enough to know the Yankees and Orioles got to play despite having their originally scheduled games postponed. It would suck to bench your players because of postponements then learn later those players earned stats while on your bench.

It’s too bad the Nats and Blue Jays can’t play each other this weekend after all because they have no more matchups for the rest of the season to play early. Games are getting postponed but two healthy teams sit idle

FWIW, this one is from Rototworld...

Craig Mish of SportsGrid hears that it's two Cardinals players that have tested positive, while Joel Sherman of the New York Post adds that the Cardinals are self-isolating at their hotel and not going to the park. Also, if the positive test came while the Cardinals were in Minnesota this week -- which seems likely -- it would put the Indians/Twins series in jeopardy, as well.

Cardinals announce they are conducting rapid testing of the entire traveling party, implementing contact tracing and will continue to self-isolate at team hotel in Milwaukee. Said they learned late last night that two players tested positive in tests conducted Wednesday in Minn.

Anyone have Indians and/or Twins hitters on your teams?

Marlins in a night club, Cardinals in a casino. As with so many things, all it takes is a few selfish jerks to spoil it for everyone. Must be infuriating to the teams that are following the rules.

Nah, injuries to Verlander, Kluber, Ohtani, etc have been more devastating to me this year.

Covid-19 still probably contributed to those injuries in some way.

I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that maybe baseball can make this work after all. It's been a pretty good week of baseball (albeit with fewer hits and runs than my teams would like) and I must admit that seeing Walker Buehler go up against Fernando Tatis, Jr. (who then hit an impressive opposite field homer) is worth the price of admission.

I know I'm probably jinxing myself with this post, but I'm doing it with fingers crossed (which is a tough way to type). Eight games on MLB Extra Innings at one time like there was last night is fun again and I hope it continues through September 27th. Again, fingers crossed that it happens. ;)

And it continues for the cardinals (and their opponents). Hope flaherty owners like casino slots.

Now, we have to deal with players not following Covid protocols.the clevinger one is a real beauty as the news came out less than 24 hours after faab deadline

Can’t believe how much I miss the days where my only concern was dealing with player injuries

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
