2021 NFBC Las Vegas Live Events Set For The Bellagio

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed Feb 17, 2021 1:49 pm

I know that once Covid has been contained and everyone feels safe to travel again, our live events in Las Vegas will be a huge hit. I think everyone is interested in getting away and seeing their fellow NFBC participants as much as ever before, but the virus is still winning and we know that not everyone who wants to travel can travel. Heck, our friends from Canada can't even get into the country at this point.

Hopefully, next March will provide a clear path for everyone who wants to attend live events to do so. We look forward to a record-breaking number of participants live with us in Las Vegas, New York and Chicago next year.

But as they say on Broadway: The show must go on!!

We are still scheduled to host live events in Las Vegas on March 25-31 and we'll take care of everyone who can make it live with us. We already have multiple sold out leagues in Las Vegas and hopefully more people will be able to join us as Covid across the country improves. Let's keep our fingers crossed that more people can get vaccinated and more people can travel between now and late March.

I wanted to start this thread because I talked with my sales rep at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and things are improving out there. In September when we hosted our NFFC live events, we had to have every single league in separate ballrooms with the walls up and we were limited to 25 people per ballroom. We actually doubled the size of each draft U, so one draft took up two ballrooms, but our big Saturday event was held in separate ballrooms.

The state's guidelines are changing at the end of the month and now we'll be able to have up to 250 people in one large ballroom. We will still double the size of the U's with each draft/auction filling two ballrooms with each team having a six-foot table to themselves. The Thursday, Friday and Sunday auctions and drafts will be in separate ballrooms in the Grand Ballroom with walls up, but on Saturday we will be able to have all of the drafts held without walls separating the big U's. Every league will be spaced out safely, but we'll again have the Stage of Champions to honor our past champions and all drafts will be seen throughout the room. The entire Grand Ballroom is over 45,000 square feet, so we'll be able to make this work with everyone well apart from each other.

Right now we have 3 full Main Event leagues for Saturday, March 27th at the Bellagio and we can handle 4 or 5 if needed. I'm confident that this will be a very safe setup.

The Grand Ballroom also has the Grand Patio where people can step outside when they can. They are not allowing any big groups in the suites yet and the Spa Tower is still closed, but MTM is working on something special for Friday night and the Midnight Madness draft. The Bellagio is still working on some things, but hopefully we'll have some news about that Friday night event soon.

Masks will be required throughout the casino and in the hallways of the Conference Center. We are treating the conference ballrooms the same as a restaurant where owners will be allowed to not wear masks in our ballrooms during drafts and auctions. Again, the goal is to have each team have their own 6-foot table and we'll again have 11' x 7' screens so that everyone throughout the room can see the draft board. We recommend that you also bring your own PCs or iPads with you so that you can more closely see the online draft board of that league. Bellagio officials will serve food and drinks individually, so the same buffet setup and drink setup will be available in Las Vegas as they previously were.

Here's the Las Vegas city link as we'll open on Thursday, March 25th and host live events throughout the entire weekend. We also have Main Event leagues schedule in Las Vegas for Monday and Wednesday at the Bellagio for anyone who stays from Sweet Sixteen to the Final Four.

The goal is to get the whole gang back in Las Vegas as Brady Tinker is scheduled to attend after missing his first-ever event in September. Darik, Tom, myself and Mike will also be there the entire time. We can't have a Thursday Night Party this year, but again hopefully we can interact during the live events and maybe even on Friday night. Stay tuned.

Thanks all and best of luck on your decisions. It's not easy to travel this year, but thanks to everyone who can safely do that. We'll see you in Las Vegas in 5 short weeks and look forward to safe, enjoyable live events at the beautiful Bellagio. Room rates are affordable throughout Las Vegas and I see that Park MGM is opening for the first time in almost a year on March 3rd. Might be some great rates there as well. Good luck.

Signed up....got my room....got my flight....when I took my (crappy) job, I told them that being in Vegas at the end of March was a condition of employment...can't wait to see everyone there...

But preparing to ( and continuing the theme)...

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
