NFBC Offering $75,000 Bonus For Main Event/Rotowire OC

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Mar 01, 2021 9:15 am

NFBC BONUS: Just a reminder that once again we are offering a $75,000 cash bonus to anyone who can win the overall titles in the Main Event and the Rotowire Online Championship. Yes, it's tough to do that as we hope to have 600 teams in the Main Event and more than 2,100 teams in the Online Championship, but it can be done.

In fact, it's been done twice before here. The insurance company has not won in this policy!! Lindy Hinkelman won this in 2009 and Chad Schroeder won it in 2015 among the Online Championship and the Primetime. So yes, it can be done.

If you have a Main Event team this year, make sure you get at least one team in the Rotowire Online Championship. If you win both overall titles you will win $275,000 plus the $75,000 cash bonus. Now that would be a $350,000 payday without even counting your league prizes!! Pretty cool. But you can't win if you don't play both contests, so jump in now!!

Here's the details:

NFBC Bonus
NFBC Main Event / Online Championship Bonus
$75,000
The NFBC will offer a $75,000 cash bonus to any owner who can win the overall titles in both the NFBC Main Event and the Rotowire Online Championship. This cash bonus is called "The Lindy" because Lindy Hinkelman of Greencreek, Idaho actually won this bonus the very first year it was offered (2009). To win this $75,000 cash bonus, an NFBC owner has to win the NFBC Main Event overall title AND the Online Championship overall title. If someone pulls off that feat, the total prize winnings will be $275,000. Only those owners entered in both events -- and one owner can have multiple teams in each event -- have a shot at this $75,000 cash bonus.

In 2015 Chad Schroeder of Omaha, Nebraska also defied the odds and won the $75,000 cash bonus by winning the NFBC Primetime and the Rotowire Online Championship overall titles. Chad took home the $80,000 grand prize in each contest and the $75,000 cash bonus enroute to $305,000 in winnings that year. The two contests had 1,704 participants between them. See, it can be done.

Thanks all and best of luck. The season is almost upon us, so don't delay!!

Just a reminder that if you plan on winning the NFBC Main Event, you might as well win the $125,000 in the 12-Team Rotowire Online Championship, too. And if you can do both of those things, an additional $75,000 cash bonus will be coming your way. That's $275,000 in overall prizes, league prizes and a $75,000 cash bonus.

Who's ready to win that this baseball season?

Just a friendly reminder to those 600+ owners in the NFBC Main Event that we also have a $75,000 cash bonus available if you can win the overall title in the Main Event AND the overall title in the Rotowire Online Championship league. It's been done before by the great Lindy Hinkelman, so let's see if we can do it again.

But you have to have teams in both contests to get it done, so let's add some Rotowire OC's and sell that contest out as well. Thanks all and good luck.

We have paid this $75,000 cash bonus twice since we started doing this in 2009 and this year there's one player who has a legitimate shot at the $75,000 grand prize. Philippe Dussault is 1st and 3rd overall in the NFBC Main Event with one week to play and he's 3rd overall in the Rotowire Online Championship. Best of luck to Philippe, who has the best shot at this $75,000 cash bonus in 2021.

We didn't pay out the $75,000 cash bonus this year for someone winning the NFBC Main Event overall title AND the Rotowire Online Championship overall title, but it wasn't for a lack of trying.

Philippe Dussault of Terrebonne, Quebec won the Main Event overall title AND he finished second in the Rotowire Online Championship. He also won the Auction Championship's overall title as this was one of the best seasons in NFBC history. Lindy Hinkleman won the Main Event overall title and the Rotowire Online Championship in 2009, the first year we offered this cash bonus and he remains the only player to win these two overall titles in the same year.

John Pausma also won the Main Event overall title in 2018 and finished second in the Rotowire Online Championship, duplicating what Philippe did. Both players scared the insurance company, but neither made the insurance company pay out!!! Bummer.

Congrats to Philippe as he bested a record field of 645 teams in the Main Event and bested everyone in a record field of 2,388 teams in the Rotowire Online Championship except Chris Fessler. Kudos to Chris, who won the Main Event in 2017 and now he's added the Rotowire Online Championship title in 2021. Great champions all the way around.

We'll try it again next year with this $75,000 cash bonus and hopefully someone wins it in 2022.
