SOLD OUT: The Cutline Best Ball Championship

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Mar 23, 2021 9:32 am

First of all, thanks to everyone for their trust and support of the NFBC during this pandemic. It's not easy to commit to a league this year during these tough times, but it's obvious we all love baseball and we all are looking forward to the diversion of a great baseball season over the next 6 months.

With that in mind, I need to alert everyone to the final spots that are left in the Main Event because right now we have 580 TEAMS REGISTERED for 2021. We had a record 570 teams in 2019 and in 2020, and prizes are based on 600 teams, so get ready for a fun record-breaking ride this year.

We have stated that there are 20 guaranteed spots left because we will do everything we can to make sure the first 600 signups get in a full league. The options are getting limited and now it's time to finish this jigsaw puzzle by fitting everyone into full leagues. It might not be easy, so please take a look at what we have left and then let's see if we can get to 40 full leagues or if we'll need one or two more leagues to fill this out.

We have no fewer than seven partial leagues, so either we need to fill them all up or we need to ask some of the final signups in those unfilled leagues to be flexible and move to another date and time. That's the tricky part and I don't want anyone who has already signed up to not get in a league, but we're at the mercy of making sure we get 15 owners in each league at each time on each date. That's never easy.

Just a heads up that for these final leagues on Monday through Thursday, we will push as long as we can to fill these leagues, so you may not get draft spots 5 days out if you are in an unfilled league. It might be four days out, or three days out, or closer yet. But you can always manage your entry on My Teams by clicking the gear icon and moving yourself into a league that is closer to selling out if that's what you want to do. That control is in your hands.

So here's where we are at right now:

NFBC MAIN EVENT OPENINGS

Wednesday, March 31st, 10 pm ET
SOLD OUT

Thursday, April 1st, 8 am ET
SOLD OUT

I don't think all of these leagues will fill as is and there will likely be some juggling, but we'll honor the first 600 signups to get in full leagues and work with them on their schedules. If you want to compete for the $150,000 grand prize, be one of the next 20 owners to sign up and we'll get this done. Thanks all and good luck in 2021.

Re: What's Left In The 2021 NFBC Main Event?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed Mar 24, 2021 5:50 am

Okay, I think we have a chance to close out some of these Main Event Online leagues for this weekend and early next week. We now have:

3 SPOTS LEFT - Saturday, March 27th, 2 pm Main Event Online

3 SPOTS LEFT - Monday, March 29th, 8 pm Main Event Online

5 SPOTS LEFT - Tuesday, March 30th, 10 pm Main Event Online

Let's get folks into those leagues, fill them up and close them out. We'll pick draft spots for the Saturday Main Event Online league 1 hour after we create the league and with any luck we'll announce draft spots for the Monday league by 8 pm ET tonight. Let's go.

Thanks all and this is all starting to come together. What a fantastic, fantastic 18th NFBC season we're finishing up with. Good luck.

We now have only five more options to get into the 2021 NFBC Main Event and they include offerings on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Nothing before then is available anymore. Here's what is left as of this moment:

Tuesday, March 30th, 8 pm ET
12 SPOTS LEFT - We have 33 owners, so need a push to get a third full league, but we have time.

Tuesday, March 30th, 10 pm ET
3 SPOTS LEFT - We have 12 owners and will fill one league at this time.

Wednesday, March 31st, 8 pm ET
9 SPOTS LEFT - We have 66 owners and will close out a 5th league with 9 more signups

Wednesday, March 31st, 10 pm ET
10 SPOTS LEFT - We have 50 owners and will close it off when we get a fourth league.

Thursday, April 1st, 8 am ET
8 SPOTS LEFT - There's no guarantee that this league will fill, but we will keep it open as long as possible for those who want one last league on Opening Day.

If we fill each of these we'll finish with more than 600 teams/40 leagues and we'll add to the overall prize pool starting with second place overall. But we're still not at 40 full leagues yet, so let's keep pushing and try to get there. Thanks all and good luck.

We start the day with 39 full Main Event leagues for 2021 and four possible options left. We need one of these leagues to fill for a sellout and then if demand is there we'll fill these last three leagues and be done. The next one up is the Tuesday, March 30th 8 pm ET Main Event Online League, which will get draft spots at 8 pm ET tonight if we fill it.

Here's a look at the last remaining spots for 2021:

NFBC MAIN EVENT OPENINGS

Tuesday, March 30th, 8 pm ET
9 SPOTS LEFT - We have 36 owners and need 9 more for a 3rd league.

Wednesday, March 31st, 8 pm ET
7 SPOTS LEFT - We have 68 owners and will close out a 5th league with 7 more signups

Wednesday, March 31st, 10 pm ET
9 SPOTS LEFT - We have 51 owners and will close it off when we get a fourth league.

Thursday, April 1st, 8 am ET
9 SPOTS LEFT - There's no guarantee that this league will fill, but we will keep it open as long as possible for those who want one last league on Opening Day.

Hey Greg, hope Vegas is great! At what point will you and Tom decide to cut off the Main’s on Tuesday and Wednesday and start assigning leagues? Wednesday evening unfortunately is the only time that works for me. Is it possible we will get our draft spot selections only hours before we draft?? Thanks.

Wednesday leagues are scheduled to get draft spots today at their assigned times. We are close to filling our 5th league at 8 pm ET and at least four leagues will get draft spots today at 8 pm ET, while the 10 pm ET leagues that are full will get their draft spots tonight at 10 ET. We have three full leagues that will receive those tonight and one more league that could fill. We'll push for that fourth league and that one could fill over the weekend.

Hang tight and league assignments and draft spots will be coming soon for Tuesday and Wednesday.
