Win $10,000 In The 2021 NFBC Memorial Day Championship

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Apr 29, 2021 9:46 am

We debuted the NFBC Memorial Day Online Championship in 2019 and sold it out with 15 leagues and 180 teams. While we couldn't offer this contest last year because baseball wasn't even being played by Memorial Day Weekend, we are happy to bring it back this year and bigger than before.

This year's Memorial Day Online Championship has a $10,000 grand prize and we are paying the Top 10 overall as prizes are based on 17 leagues and 204 teams. The stats will encompass all games from Monday, May 31st through the end of the regular season. It's a second opportunity to draft a winning team and play out the season over the last four months.

The contest is formed with the same rules as our Rotowire Online Championship: 12 teams, 30 rounds, in-season FAAB and $350 entry fee. League prizes are $1,400 for 1st Place and $700 for 2nd place, with a top grand prize of $10,000.

Drafts will be held the week leading up to Memorial Day, from Tuesday, May 25th through Monday morning, May 31st. We have a total of 23 draft times on Registration because we are unsure which dates and times will be most popular, but our goal is to sell this out with 17 full leagues. All drafts will be held online and the draft room will contain 2021 current stats for all players. There is a 650 innings pitched minimum for this contest.

All rules can be found here: https://nfc.shgn.com/rules/764
Prizes are as follows:

League Prizes
1st - $1,400
2nd - $700

Overall Prizes
1st - $10,000
2nd - $2,500
3rd - $1,500
4th - $1,250
5th - $1,000
6th - $800
7th - $750
8th - $600
9th - $500
10th - $400

Daniel Thompson of Port St. Lucie, Florida won the 2019 Memorial Day Online Championship and he's already the first person signed up for 2021. Dan had a great run in 2019 and he's ready to defend his title against even more teams this year.

The Memorial Day Online Championship leagues will give owners a reboot on the season and another chance to win more money. It also allows players to better know the player pool and to draft players with "known" value. It also gives some owners who have suffered a lot of injuries to their early season teams another chance to still enjoy the MLB season. Enjoy and good luck everyone.

Oh, and you can buy a 3-Pack on Registration for $1,000.

Thanks all and best of luck with all of your full season teams.

Re: 7 Spots Left: Wednesday, 8 pm ET NFBC Memorial Day Championship

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon May 24, 2021 12:25 pm

Are you ready to draft again?

If so, then our NFBC Memorial Day Online Championship is for you. These are 12-team, 30-round drafts that count stats from Monday, May 31st through the end of the regular season. We hope to kick this contest off on Wednesday with our first draft at 8 pm ET. We have drafts scheduled every night from Wednesday through Monday morning and our goal is to fill 17 leagues.

These drafts are going to be interesting without an ADP to start out with because the first round is filled with players with injuries or players who are expected to bounce back after slow starts. It should be fun and very competitive for the $10,000 grand prize.

Who would you take with the first overall pick? Who would you take with a Top 5 pick? Heck, where does Shohei Ohtani go in these redraft leagues?

We'll find out on Wednesday night and every day after that. Lineups will lock with the first games on Monday, so jump in now and compete for the $1,400 league prizes and the $10,000 grand prize. Here we go.

This is the current signup list for our kickoff draft as Rotowire's Jeff Erickson and Chris Liss have decided to share a team:

2021 NFBC Memorial Day Championship
$350 Entry Fee, $1,400 League Prize, $10,000 Grand Prize

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Sun May 30, 2021 8:57 am

NOW ONLY 6 SPOTS LEFT in the next NFBC Memorial Day Online Championship league that is set for 8 pm ET today. Jump in because the Return On Investment will never be better for a national contest in the NFBC. There's no turning back now as we have 9 full leagues already, so get in because the overall prize pool is guaranteed. You might not ever have better odds of winning a national title in the NFBC than in this one.

We have a shot to fill three more leagues today, but prizes are based on 17 leagues. Do the math and it's in your favor. Take advantage of the decreased interest in this contest this year and turn $350 into $10,000 and the $1,400 league prize. We'll take the loss, you take the winnings.

Let's get these last three leagues today. Here they are:

Sunday, May 30th, 8 pm ET
1. Michael Miranda
2. JAMES VITTONE
3. Fred Spinder
4. Michelle Smith
5. Salvatore Esposito
6. Mark Murabayashi
7. Matthew Mattingly
8. Matt Spalding
9. Dale Morgan

Sunday, May 30th, 10 pm ET
1. Dan Thompson
2. Ian Peterson
3. Brent Franey

11:30 pm ET

Re: Win $10,000 In The 2021 NFBC Memorial Day Championship

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu May 26, 2022 7:58 am

I apologize for the lack of communication on this contest, but by now you can tell that we aren't offering a 2022 NFBC Memorial Day Championship. We probably should have made an announcement on this earlier this month, so it's our fault for not communicating better.

Several people have asked us about this contest recently and we just decided that there wasn't enough interest last year to come back with it this year. It's a great concept and we can look at it again next year, but after the lockout and all we were just happy to have full season contests back and decided to move on from this "Second Chance" format.

Thanks all and enjoy the holiday weekend.
