If for some unknown reason (#1 overall team) you started Brett Myers for this week and since he was already on the DL going into the week does that mean you can still sub him out on friday using the DL rule?

Just curious cause i thought it was only if he went on the DL during the current week in question?

Thanks!

Thanks! Mark left him in so he could have the option to play Kuo or Washburn. Kuo start was up in the air until he pitched Monday night in the minors. It looks like he will start so it looks like he made the right play.

Yes, this is a way that the DL rule can be slightly abused. I have commented on a similar situation. Personally, I think it is a bit abusive, but since it is officially within the rules and Greg has commented specifically that it is ok, then it is ok

As long as the rule is available to everyone, how can there be a problem with it? Make it part of your strategy!!

Evolve within the rules or parish.
