Discount Packages for 2022

Post by Bjs2025 » Mon Oct 18, 2021 7:36 am

Greg/Tom

Just wondering since we're getting closer to the 2022 site going live if the 3 or 6 team packages specifically for DCs at the $150/$400 level will remain the same pricing. Making some monetary plans for the season and curious about specifics if you have them.

Thanks!

Yes, Special Packages will remain the same for all 2022 events. 3 and 6 packs for DCs and Online Championship leagues. 3, 5 and 9 packs for Cutlines and a Main Event 2-pack early on as well. We look forward to unveiling all of our contests shortly after the World Series as everything is finalized right now. We are bullish on 2022 with the hope that the two sides agree to a new CBA in a timely fashion. Fingers crossed.

Any chance of an "Auction Championship and Main Event" package discount for 2022 for those considering going to NY/Vegas and wanting to try one of each?

We don't have any "mixed" packages at this point, outside of one that includes an Online Championship, Draft Champions and Cutline Championship entry. We could consider, though. Thanks for the suggestion.

It’s time to bump the $400 DC’s to $500 & make it a stand-alone league with all the prize money in the league & not lumped into toward the Overall with the 150s for those who want to compete for higher league prizes. So you would have 50s, 150s, 500s, & 1000s. If the $50 DCs have their own overall prize competition seperate from the $150s albeit only a free Main Event entry, I would assume it didn’t make sense either financially or from a competition stand point to lump those in with the 150 DCs. Similarly, I don’t think it is fair to lump the $400 & $1000 DCs in with the $150 DCs. I would like to see the $500 DCs & the $1000 DC’s treated separately as higher stakes leagues seperate from the $150DCs with all the prize confined to that league.

Coz, $300 is being taken out of the $150 and $400 DCs for the overall. The same amount for both price levels. NOTHING is being taken out of the $1,000 or $2,500 DCs and yet they still have a shot at the overall prize pool. Are you saying that for $300 extra it's worth taking the $400 DC leagues out of the race for the overall prizes? It doesn't make sense. It's not that much coming out, and again, NOTHING is coming out of the $1,000 or the $2,500 DCs to cover the overall prizes. We are more than happy to eat that $300 to add more prizes to those leagues.

If people really think that $500 is a better price point than $400 and that $300 to be spread around three league prizes rather than a shot at the $30,000 grand prize is the way to go, let me know. I'm all for filling up more leagues.

The reason we didn't take overall prize money out of $50 DCs is because there wouldn't be a whole lot to take out and you'd need thousands of teams to reach a worthy prize pool. Instead, we are eating the three FREE overall prizes as a marketing expense, and I think people enjoyed that last year. But we also pay only two spots there, not three.

I hope this helps.

Although I would be in favor of high stakes standalone draft champions, I don’t think anything should change with the $400 or $1000 price point being in the overall contest. The league prizes are still good for those competitions

As someone who plays the higher dollar DC’s, I personally would prefer all the money even if just $300 kept in the league and paid out in prize money within the league itself. If I draft before Spring Training as I’m wont to do, oftentimes in December or January, I want to know I’m competing on a level playing field & not against a lesser quality $150 DC drafted on the eve of Opening Day knowing $300 of my league money is subsidizing an overall prize against teams & leagues drafting with better & more current information often after season-ending injuries. Bump the entry fee to $500 plus the $300 kept within the league & that’s a nice prize worthy of the effort. Now my preference may be the minority view but why not at least make a $500 stand-alone DC an option and see what the market prefers. As of now, we don’t even have a choice.
