Hello everyone!

Greg, Tom and Darik will once again be competing in an online auction vs fellow NFBC competitors on Tuesday Feb 22 at 7 pm EST. The guys will have a segment on their radio show the following night as well devoted to this and will bring on a guest or two to discuss the results.

It is $50 per person and the payouts will be:
$500 for first
$200 for 2nd
$50 for 3rd

Who would like to join? All payments for league will be sent to me and this pays out 100 percent.

Hey Andy, Todd Easterling here. I have a buddy whose also a member here who wants a spot. He forgot his message board log in info so he's contacted the admin but hasn't gotten the info yet. Last night's auction was a ton of fun and very tough with a great group of owners. We completed the auction and the draft in just over 4 hours and it felt even quicker than that. Software worked well and everyone did a great job of nominating players at a great pace and using the Max Bid feature. Nobody uses that feature more than Mr. Andy Saxton!!!

Here's my team. I'm happy with my offense. We'll see about the pitching. Saves shouldn't be a problem but I'll probably be working the Wire all season for SP help. I really wanted to team Bichette with Betts but Greg drove his price up a bit higher than I wanted so that forced me to downsize to Mullins and after that I scaled back and decided to try to find lower-priced power bats and I think I ended up doing fine with guys like JD, Walsh, Garcia, Verdugo, Donaldson and Duvall. In retrospect I probably should've gone after Trout as my No. 2 hitter but I really wanted someone with more SB upside to team with Bichette.

Great auction and a lotta fun. Greg and I will talk about it on the Sirius show tonight and Andy will be on the show as well.

Since this is a private league, I opted to punt Saves last night and use that extra money on more hitters and Starting Pitchers. It might be a lame brain strategy, but I'll take my chances avoiding big closer buys and big FAAB closer buys and see how it works out concentrating on the 9 other categories. These guys have been kicking my ass in this league for years, so time to try something new.

Strategy:
Keep my Pitching Staff to $80 Dollars and grab $180 of Offense. Get some Cheap HR's and Pay for Steals. Grab 1 Good Closer.
Just pay for what you want, there are no Sleepers with this Group of Owners.

Did it Work:
I had to overpay on Offense for Harper, Chisholm, Franco and Riley. Left me Grabbing 10 Guys for a Dollar, so I missed out on Guys like
Dalbec, Muncy, Voit for the Cheap Bombs. I have to hope Torkelson, Aguilar, Lewis and Kepler hit those Bombs now.

On the Pitching Side, I took a Chance on Degrom and Verlander. If they stay in 1 Piece, my Pitching should hang in there.
I missed out on End Gamers like Ashby, Patino, McKenzie, Mize, Javier(In this League, every owner knows the Cheap Values).
I had to settle for Paddack and hope Edward Cabrera and Roansy Contreras contribute this season.
I ended up with a 173/87 split on Offense/Defense. I could have used 1 More Speed guy, but passed on some Judy's like Miles Straw.

Max Bid is my friend:) Not sure why everyone doesnt use it this much. Frees you up for consuming beverages and watching tv also:)

My Strategy: Stay awake as I have been burning the candle at both ends. As Greg said earlier, use max bid feature:)
Spend around 100 on pitching and 160 on hitting

What happened? I got priced out on first round guys, but I typically dont spend more than 35 a player anyway.
Got Trout for 30, he wasnt a target but I liked the value if he stays healthy. I bought some guys who went for huge dollars last year in auctions but had off years so they were cheaper this year(Grisham, Meadows etc). I think they will provide good value.

Second closer I wanted someone better than barlow but kept getting priced out. I love my speed with Albies and Marte. Was trying for another good 1B for corner but kept losing out on Rizzo, Mancini etc. Hopefully Carlos Santana and Pavin Smith can contribute from reserve rounds.

Should I have spent on one more good SP and gotten my pitcher spend closer to 100? Probably
