What's Close To Selling Out In The NFBC Live Events?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Sat Mar 12, 2022 8:31 am

I try to keep every informed about leagues that are close to selling out as best as I can on Live Chat and on the Message Boards, but because of the lockout it's going to be even harder this year. So many people held off signing up for contests and some contests got moved to later dates that it's an ever changing signup list these days.

But we are less than two weeks away from the start of the live events at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, so I thought it might be best to create one thread that at least can address the leagues that are close to selling out in Las Vegas, New York City and Chicago. I'll do all I can to update this thread with the latest openings and I'll even try to do it for NYC and Chicago when we are in Las Vegas.

The first thing that stands out for me this morning is the first NFBC Main Event leagues in Las Vegas. We open with two Main Event leagues on Thursday, March 24th at 4 pm ET and we have ONLY 5 SPOTS LEFT. We have 25 teams signed up for that kickoff event and we have room for 30 teams. Next 5 in will close this date out because I don't want to push for a third league at this point.

Also, the Main Event at the Bellagio on Saturday, March 26th at 11 am ET now has ONLY 16 SPOTS LEFT. We have 89 teams signed up and we have room for only 7 leagues/105 teams. I wish we had more space at the Bellagio this year, but there is a huge conference that has the majority of the Convention Center that weekend and we were fortunate to get the four DaVinci ballrooms and the three Raphael ballrooms. Unfortunately, we won't have a big stage this year and we'll have 4 leagues in one open ballroom and 3 leagues in another open ballroom, but it will still be a nice setup and we'll honor our past champions and Hall of Famers in the DaVinci ballrooms before we get started. I even have a lengthy speech planned!! (nah, just kidding). Should be fun.

But we don't have space for more than 7 leagues on Saturday morning, so once we get to 105 teams in Las Vegas we are done for that day. We have Main Event leagues at the Bellagio on Sunday at 10 am and 4 pm, and even Monday at 5 pm, but once we hit 7 leagues on Saturday morning we are done. Sorry.

Okay, let's lead off with these two Las Vegas Mains and see if we can fill them up soon. Thanks all. Here's the current signup lists:

I'm not trying to cause panic, but signups keep coming in for the Las Vegas Main Event on Saturday, March 26th at 11 am PT. We now have six full leagues and only 14 guaranteed spots left. I will see if there's a way to squeeze one more league in the space that we have, but I'm not sure we can. Once we get to 7 full leagues and 105 spots, we'll have to take this contest off Registration unless the Bellagio can help us out.

Anyway, I know there are a few veterans out there who still aren't in this contest and they might be coming to Vegas. Don't delay if you want to secure your spot in this one because it's really going to be a special day. Thanks all.

Okay, we filled up the Las Vegas Friday, March 25th, 10 am $1500 Auction Championship League for the third different time last night. Thanks Matty Davis for grabbing that last spot. Now, NOBODY MOVE OUT OF THIS ONE!!!!

We have two full Auction Championship Leagues at that time and one at 4 pm PT. We are keeping the 4 pm PT one open just in case the AL Auction League doesn't fill; then we'd try for two mixed auction leagues. I know it's late, but Friday afternoon is still pretty wide open.

Oh, and we just filled up the Las Vegas, Saturday, March 26th, 4 pm $1500 Auction Championship League. Thanks to Brent Franey for that.

We are moving closer to filling the 7th Saturday Main Event in Las Vegas as well and we still have 2 SPOTS LEFT for the Thursday Las Vegas Main Event. We will form those leagues and pick draft spots on Saturday. Here's the latest:

LAS VEGAS UPDATE:

1 SPOT LEFT - NFBC Main Event, Thursday, March 24th at 4 pm PT

4 SPOTS LEFT - NFBC Main Event, Saturday, March 26th at 11 am PT

2 SPOTS LEFT (possibly 1) - NFBC NL $1500 Auction Championship, Friday, March 25th at 10 am PT

2 SPOTS LEFT - NFBC $1500 Auction Championship in New York City, Friday, April 1st at 9 am ET

We're getting close on a lot of these. Thanks all and good luck.

Okay, Las Vegas is really shaping up nicely. Thanks again to everyone who is making it out to Las Vegas and competing in our live events. This is going to be a BLAST!!

We already have 105 owners and 7 full leagues for the Saturday, 11 am PT Main Event at the Bellagio. That's the same number of leagues we had at one time in Las Vegas in 2019 before the pandemic. Great job. Now I can't wait to see what we get next year with no lockout and hopefully no pandemic.

Anyway, we are down to just a couple of openings in Las Vegas, although we've decided to add a couple of items just to see if there's interest out there for a little more. Here's what's available:

10 SPOTS LEFT - NFBC Main Event, Sunday, March 27th, 10 am PT (we will combine with Online if needed)

10 SPOTS LEFT - NFBC Main Event, Sunday, March 27th, 4 pm PT (we will combine with Online if needed)

11 SPOTS LEFT - NFBC $1500 Auction Championship, Friday, March 25th, 4 pm PT (some of the AL guys are looking for action)

Because we are out of space at 11 am PT on Saturday, we've added a Main Event Las Vegas on Saturday at 4 pm PT. Anyone up for PLAYING TWO that day? Again, we can combine with Online if needed, but we feel bad that the 11 am leagues are full and just want to give an option for a Main if anyone is interested and can't stick around on Sunday. What the heck.

This is Second Weekend in NYC, but let's get this filled this weekend and start working on the Saturday, April 2nd $1500 Auction Championship league:

2 SPOTS LEFT - NFBC $1500 Auction Championship in New York City, Friday, April 1st at 9 am ET

Thanks all and safe travels this week.

Okay, to get to 8 full NFBC Auction Championship leagues, we have to fill these last two leagues:

2 Spots Left - New York Friday, April 1st 9 am $1500 Auction Championship League
5 Spots Left - Wednesday, April 6th 8 pm ET $1500 Auction Championship Online League

We can fill both and we hope to fill a New York one on Saturday, April 2nd at 5 pm ET.

Let's get busy and if you're thinking about doing an Online $1500 league get into that April 6th one soon. Thanks all and good luck in the battle for the $20,000 grand prize.
