2023 NFBC Season Starts Today With Open Draft Room

First of all, CONGRATS to all of our prize winners in 2022. The National Fantasy Baseball Championship is the ultimate competition in this industry, so cashing in any league is quite an accomplishment. And to all of those league winners and national champions, a BIG CONGRATS for a job well done.
We anticipate putting prize money on your Player Accounts tomorrow. We will wait through today for any stat changes and then all stats will be finalized tonight. We will then put all prize money on Player Accounts and that money will show up right on your account tomorrow. You no longer have to Claim Prizes as we are putting this prize money directly onto your account now and going forward. If you don't have a W9 on file, you will be prompted for that information before you can do anything with that prize money, but if you have a W9 on file you can access your prize money right away.
Now, if you plan on playing with us again in 2023 or in any future contests, we highly recommend that you leave some money on your account. You can then easily sign up for any contest using that money for your entry fees and you'll avoid any 2% charge on credit cards in the future. Earn money, save money and then earn money again. That sounds like a nice financial plan.
And since 2023 is going to be our 20th anniversary season of the NFBC, we aren't waiting around for the playoffs to end. We have figured out how we can launch the draft room TODAY and Registration is already open for signups. We are only offering $150 and $400 Draft Champions leagues at this point, but will have the whole list of contests available immediately after the World Series.
We'll make a formal announcement shortly, but since the Draft Champions format will be the only available format through October, we'll let you in on the secret now: The grand prize in the NFBC Draft Champions National Championship has gone from $30,000 to $40,000. We believe that we'll get almost 5,000 teams for this great draft 'n hold format and so it only made sense to increase the grand prize to $40,000. Good luck everyone and enjoy.
Here's the signup links for the NFBC 2-Hour and 4-Hour $150 Draft Champions leagues that will start 30 minutes after they fill:

Now, here's the details on the draft room that has just been launched:
** We are using the 2022 NFBC Draft Room with the player default list using the final DC ADPs. We did move some players around to help out, but the players are not in the order that you'll see when we launch the draft room again after the World Series. This was the fastest way to get the draft room up and running, so use the Search tool for players that you want and draft accordingly. When we launch the draft room again in November, we'll have an updated player default list and the ADPs from early drafts will default over rather quickly.
** We have over 3,000 players listed in the draft room, but we likely are missing some minor-leaguers who will be drafted this year. Draft a Placeholder, post in the Chat room who you selected and email Darik at [email protected] and we'll get the player added. Once we launch in November, we'll have all of these players in the new draft room.
** Position eligibility for each player in the draft room during October will show 2022 position eligibility; NOT 2023 POSITION ELIGIBILITY. If you have questions about what position a player qualifies at, look it up to see for yourself or feel free to email one of us. We will have every player correct once the new draft room launches in November, but for now please look up the number of games played in 2023 for yourself and realize that it might be different from what you see in the draft room. 2023: Any position in which player appeared at 20 games in 2022; OR if not reaching 20 at any position in the MLB in 2022, the position they appeared at MOST; OR if only a minor leaguer in 2022, the ONE position they played most.
** Drafts will start 30 minutes after the league fills. The pause time is now 1 to 9 am ET, giving an extra hour on the front end and on the back end. You can still draft during the pause, but we found in football that this helped fill more 2-hour leagues as East Coast and Midwest folks found it easier to manage the faster drafts this way with an earlier pause time, while West Coast participants got an extra hour before the drafts started in the morning. It worked for everyone. Again, you can still draft during the pause, so enjoy.
We will announce all of our 2022 national championship winners shortly and we'll announce the new prize structures for all of our 2023 contests shortly as well. We are VERY EXCITED about the upcoming 2023 NFBC season and plan to reminisce about the first 19 seasons of the NFBC throughout the year. Look for more interviews on our High Stakes Fantasy Network YouTube channel soon and be ready for a historic season ahead.
Enjoy the MLB playoffs, get your Cheat Sheets ready earlier this year and then be ready for the 20th anniversary season of the NFBC. It's going to be one to remember. Thanks all.
