Andrew Geller Wins 2022 Rotowire Online Championship & $150,000

Andrew Geller of Flemington, New Jersey won the 2022 Rotowire Online Championship and our record $150,000 grand prize as he topped a record field of 2,388 teams for the title. Andrew has been close to winning this title before as he finished 2nd in the 2020 Sprint Rotowire OC and was 4th last year in the Rotowire Online Championship, but this year he finally took home the top prize.

Andrew first joined the NFBC in 2014 and has been competing for this title every year since then. He won 10 Rotowire Online Championship league titles before this year and this year he added two more Rotowire OC league titles among his six teams.

But it was his March 5th Da Gildz Won Time!!! team that ended up winning the overall title. It dominated the league with 111 points (92.5%) and then made a dramatic sprint to the finish line to win the overall title. It was 9th with two weeks to go and then moved up to 5th heading into the final week of the season. It moved into first place before the weekend and held on through the final three days of the season. Da Gildz Won Time finished 121 points ahead of Kyle Brinkmannn to win the $150,000 grand prize.

Kyle won $30,000 for his runner-up finish, while NFBC Hall of Famer John Pausma finished third to win $20,000. Rounding out the Top 5 were Matthew Levine ($15,000) and Griffin Benger ($10,000). Griffin had two teams finish in the Top 7 overall as the battled for the overall title throughout the year. We paid the Top 25 overall teams this year.

Andrew's winning total of 21,436 points was 89.77 percent of all available points. That's actually the lowest winning percentage in the 14-year history of the Online Championship, which shows you what a close race it was this year.

Andrew won from the 10th spot in this league and he started with Kyle Tucker and Ozzie Albies, Aaron Nola, Pete Alonso, Sandy Alcantara and Paul Goldschmidt.
