Gregg Martin Wins 2022 NFBC Online Auction Championship

Gregg Martin of Brooklyn, New York won the second annual NFBC Online Auction Championship as he topped a record field of 660 teams to win the $7,000 grand prize. This is the second straight year that this contest reached its max total of teams, which means we need to expect even more teams in 2023 and get that grand prize up higher!!

Gregg competed in the March 10th, 8 pm ET NFBC $150 Online Auction Championship League and he dominated that league by winning with 134 points (89.33%). He then won the overall title with 6,003.5 points, earning 90.96 percent of all available points. He finished 109.5 points ahead of Mike Rothe in the overall competition as Mike earned $2,000 for his runner-up finish. Rounding out the Top 5 were the 2021 NFBC Online Auction Championship winner Zach Waxman ($1,500), Matthew Mattingly ($1,250) and Mike Rothe again ($1,000). The Top 20 overall finishers earned cash prizes, while the Top 3 teams in each league earned prize money.

The 26-year-old champion got Aaron Judge for $26, Sandy Alcantara for $24, Yu Darvish for $18 and Adley Rutschman for $5 as a nice foundation to his championship team. I'll post his complete auction results and FAAB pickups shortly. Oh, and Gregg will be in the NFBC Main Event next year for the first time as he also won a Main Event Qualifier league title, so we'll see him in the Main in 2023.
