Much to my surprise there were a bunch of quality free agents available this week (none in my league of course). Here's a list of them. Either we have a couple of dud owners or we have a few "dummy" leagues. Too bad I'm not in one of them.

Aaron Harang

Brad Lidge

Brian Lawrence

Eric Munson

Jason Marquis

Jeff Suppan

John Patterson

Rafael Soriano

Ray Lankford

Scot Shields

Scott Schoeneweis

Raphael Soriano? Kind of hard to hold a spot for a guy in triple A ball. Especially when you have 3 guys on your bench on the DL. :(

Must be nice to only have 3 players on the DL. I'm currently sitting with 5, although they all could be back within the next few days, I'm holding my breath ... what is that another set back, again ..... arrrrggggg

Scott Schoeneweis GG - you like Brian Lawrence? I think the pads' batting practice pitcher has a lower WHIP

OGB...don't complain as many of the remnants able to be picked up will cost you far greater than the zeros from a DL...see Peter Bergeron for example

Maybe owners should drop Contreras now? His stats are much worse than Lawrence.
I didn't draft Lawrence, but if I did I probably would've dropped him too. To date, he has generated negative value and I wouldn't bet that he is going to get a lot better ... there are better quality pitchers on the waiver wire unless you believe that he is about to miraculously re-discover his 2001 form.

He should be dropped from the SD rotation, they have better arms. Contreras - is he throwing like Lawrence - in the mid 80s with no movement ?

On another note, I love owners who get scared and start dumping decent players that start the year slowly. Maybe Lawrence will improve...maybe he won't, but I'd give him at least 5-6 starts before dumping him.

To date, many players have generated negative values. So, listen up all owners....drop Jeter, Contreras, Redman, Ensberg, etc... they are generating negative value for your team, cut them loose now!! Dukie can then have some "ammo" to prove his point. ;)
Yeah, everyone dump your underperformers (especially if you're in my lge) -- I agree with Gordie!! Actually GG, my only "point" is that Brian Lawrence doesn't have it. The season will prove me right or wrong.

I see you forgot to mention that he gave up all those runs in the first inning AND he also got the WIN. Selective memory? Again, you are a true genius.

So Liz, what you are saying that the person who released Halladay last year had a right to do so because his first month's stats dictacted he should......

Maybe he hopes someone in his league would pick them up a drop a better player than Gordo has on his team and that he can pick them up next week.

On a separate note, in LV-5, Contreras has, in fact, been dropped. How much would you pay to pick him up Lizard?
