KDS Deadlines For 2023 NFBC Live Event Leagues

Once again this year, we will run KDS five days before the actual draft dates and times of all scheduled leagues. That gives everyone enough time to prepare for their draft spots while giving you as much time as possible to set your KDS preferences. Remember that the draft spots are announced exactly five days before the draft date at the scheduled time of the drafts.

We will have different KDS deadlines for the MTM Ultimate League, the Diamond Draft League and the Platinum League, which will be listed below.

But the general rule for all NFBC leagues -- including the Main Event -- is this:

1) KDS will lock and run exactly five days to the hour of the scheduled draft if that league is full. In other words, for the Saturday, March 25th Las Vegas Main Event at 11 am PT, KDS will lock on Monday, March 20th at 11 am PT. Let's do one more: For the final NFBC Main Event Online leagues on Wednesday, March 29th at 10 pm ET, KDS will run on Friday, March 24th at 10 pm ET for all full leagues.

2) For all leagues that are not full five days in advance -- this includes the Main Event but especially the Online Championship and other online leagues -- KDS will run 15 minutes after the league fills. It could take slightly longer to run the draft orders for the Main Event in this scenario because we individually lock those leagues, but for the most part you will see draft spots about 15 minutes after a league fills if within five days of the draft date.

I'm not going to list all of the Main Event leagues here with their KDS preferences, but do the math and realize that five days before your draft date -- at the exact scheduled start time of your draft -- you will see draft spots if that league is full. Simple enough and simple math.

There are three live event leagues that are different, however. They include the MTM Ultimate League in New York City, the NFBC Diamond League and the NFBC Platinum League, both of which will be held live in Las Vegas at the Mirage.

The MTM Ultimate League will have draft spots picked immediately before the scheduled 8 pm ET draft time. Someone will pick baseballs out of a bin and when the owner's name is called, he picks his draft spot and sits at that spot at the draft table. This happens for all 15 spots until they are filled. This league will be broadcast live from New York City from 8 to 11 pm ET by SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio. Can't wait.

For the NFBC Diamond League, we will pick the draft spots on Friday, March 24th at 3:30 pm PT. I will be live at the Mirage in Las Vegas with 15 baseballs and we'll pick names out the same way as the MTM Ultimate League and players can then choose the best available spot that they want. I will have a Zoom room set up as well for those who won't be live in Las Vegas. Let's do this draft selection AFTER the NFBC Platinum League since it's being held a day later and several people are in both leagues. We have a lot going on in Las Vegas all weekend, but let's do this draft selection process between the morning and afternoon auctions in Las Vegas. Let's meet in Grand Ballroom B of the Mirage Convention Center and on Zoom for the online drafters. And feel free to set your KDS preferences on your team page if you can't make it and we'll look there for your top available draft spot in your KDS when you're picked. Thanks.

Platinum - We will bid for draft spots using players' FAAB budget on Friday, March 24th at 9 am PT. We will host this in Grand Ballroom C exactly at 9:30 am PT/12:30 pm ET before all of the auction leagues we have going on out in Las Vegas. If you can't make it live at that time, I'll have a Zoom room set up for everyone and you can make your bids that way. We have almost all of the participants for this league live in Las Vegas, so I'm confident this will work well. This year we will let the owners pick their draft spot after winning the bid, so the first person to win the opening bid could pick slot 3 or any other slot that he would like. You do NOT have to name the player you want at that time, just the draft spot you want. We'll do this for all 15 draft spots and the minimum bid for every opening bid is $10, even for the last bid.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at [email protected] or post here. Thanks all and good luck.

Okay, a slight change on the dates and times for the draft selections of the NFBC Platinum and Diamond leagues. Since the Platinum drafts a day earlier than the Diamond, it only makes sense to do that league first. See below and I'll email all of the participants as well:
