The 2023 Main Event Is SOLD OUT

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Mar 10, 2023 11:46 am

The NFBC Main Event is our signature event and the premiere contest in the fantasy baseball industry since 2004. We finished with only 195 teams in 2004 when the prizes were based on 300 teams, but since that time we have SOLD OUT the Main Event every year since.

That's 18 STRAIGHT SELLOUTS FOR THE NFBC MAIN EVENT!!!

This is our 20th anniversary season and we sure hope to keep that streak going with a 19th straight sellout. We aggressively pushed the grand prize to $200,000 this year and prizes are based on 750 teams after finishing with 705 teams in 2022.

Can we do it? Let's find out. I'll keep the countdown on this thread and I look forward to announcing a sellout here later this month. Thanks all and good luck.

NOW 234 GUARANTEED SPOTS LEFT IN THE 2023 NFBC MAIN EVENT!!!

Just for reference, here's how many Main Event teams we finished with each of the first 19 seasons:

NOW MORE THAN 600 TEAMS IN THE 2023 NFBC MAIN EVENT!!!

We still have a lot of work to do to get to 750 teams, but we're getting closer to our goal each day. I have a feeling that final week of Main Event Online leagues are going to fill up and we could get a lot of last minute signups. We will announce draft picks five days in advance for all full leagues, but if they fill closer to the draft date, then we'll pick draft spots one hour after the league fills. Plan accordingly and don't give up hope on those final week leagues because I think many of them will fill multiple leagues at the same times.

Thanks all and best of luck on the first day of NFBC Main Event drafts!!! We have five of them today, including two live in New York City. Look for Main Event ADPs once all five drafts are in the books. Enjoy.

Great job everyone filling up tonight's NFBC Main Event Online League. We are knocking out every available Main Event league we've offered so far and now we have the Thursday, Friday and Saturday Online leagues to fill. Since we are within five days, please set your KDS preferences after signing up and look for draft spots an hour after the league fills.

There's no question in my mind that we'll fill all of these next leagues. You can see the interest even on the day of the draft. Everyone is ready to draft no matter what draft spot they get. Let's keep it going.

We're at 634 teams locked and loaded right now. I know we can get to 750 teams and 50 full leagues. Here we go!!! :D

We're sitting at 653 teams with nine drafting days left!! Can we sell out the Main Event for a 19th straight season? Of course we can. Don't delay if you want a spot in this year's premiere industry contest.

We had 31 Main Event signups on yesterday, a one-day record for the NFBC. And it happened on a regular Tuesday, no less, with no discount offers or anything special. Just a regular Tuesday in the NFBC when we get this late in the season!!!

We now have 674 teams signed up and ready to roll for the 2023 NFBC Main Event. I think you can see that we're going to sell out for a 19th straight season and then some, so don't delay if you want to compete for this year's record $200,000 grand prize. You don't want to miss this season, especially after watching last night's epic WBC Final.

We finished with 705 Main Event teams last year and I wasn't sure we'd ever top that number. Well, prove me wrong because we're going to hit that number before the live events in Las Vegas this weekend. Here we goooooooooooo. :D

WE NOW HAVE 700 TEAMS IN THE 2023 NFBC MAIN EVENT!!!

Now only 50 guaranteed spots left before we announce a 19th straight sellout of the industry's premiere contest!!! :D Pretty cool.

We still have a lot of work to do, but you can see the final available leagues over these last six leagues and spots are definitely limited. We plan on closing off each league once it fills and whittle our way all the way to that second Main Event Online league on Thursday at 9 am ET. We are confident that we can fill all of these remaining leagues, beginning with today's 10 pm ET Main Event Online League. That one has ONLY 1 SPOT LEFT!!!

We finished with 705 Main Event teams last year, so it will be pretty cool to top that number before I give my speech on Saturday in Las Vegas before the 11 am Main Event. Thanks everyone for making our 20th anniversary season the best one ever and let's keep this momentum going. Thanks.

We now have a record 727 Main Event teams signed up after receiving 30 signups on Friday!!! Folks, we are headed toward a 19th CONSECUTIVE SELLOUT OF THE MAIN EVENT!!! :D :D

We still have some work to do to fit everyone into full leagues, so nothing is guaranteed, but you can see a path to 750 teams and beyond. Let's finish strong this weekend, fill up these remaining leagues and get draft spots to everyone in plenty of time. Thanks all and good luck.

Here we go!!!!!!

IT'S OFFICIAL: THE 2023 NFBC MAIN EVENT HAS SOLD OUT!!!

We reached 50 leagues this morning when tonight's 10 pm ET Main Event Online filled. That gave us 50 full leagues, with 12 of 15 spots filled for Tuesday at 10 pm ET. We have to get those folks into a full league, so the next three spots are certainly good to go. There's nothing wrong with a nice number of 765 teams in the Main Event!! :D

Thanks all and let's fill these last leagues this week and compete for the record $200,000 grand prize.

Congrats Greg, Tom, Darik and the whole team...

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
