Post by Tom Kessenich » Mon Mar 13, 2023 8:42 am

Our 20th Anniversary Season of Live Events begins on FRIDAY in New York at Dave & Busters with a BIG day of auctions and then capped off with the annual MTM Ultimate that will be broadcast LIVE on Sirius XM Radio. Greg and I will be there to host all the day's activities and we cannot wait to see everyone bright and early Friday morning for what we know will be two days of exciting events in the Big Apple for Year 20 of the NFBC.

We're looking forward to seeing all our returning veterans and meeting new friends as well. It's hard to believe this will be the 20th year of doing these fabulous events. Okay everyone, the live events begin in about 36 hours in New York City!!! Are you ready for some baseball?

The first event on Friday, March 17th is the 9 am ET $1500 Auction Championship League. Dave & Busters doesn't officially open until 10 am, so we are getting special permission to get in at 8 am and get the room set up on the third floor. If you come to the front entrance around 8:15 or so, I think we'll be able to get you upstairs and logged into the internet.

We need everyone ready to go exactly at 9 am ET because we have a tight, tight schedule. We have the $2500 Auction Championship at 2:30 pm ET and then the MTM Ultimate Invitational League at 8 pm, which is being aired on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio. We need to stay on time with this tight schedule.

So come to Dave & Busters a little early to get set up and hopefully we can get everyone upstairs and situated by 8:45 or so. Sound good?

Tom and I are flying to New York City in the morning and will meet for drinks at a location that will be determined soon. I think Andy Saxton has a reservation for us near 7th Street, so stay tuned. Safe travels everyone.

Before we kick off the second day of live events in New York City -- which begins today with the first Main Event leagues of the season -- I'd like to commend everyone who participated in the auctions and draft yesterday. The two auction leagues finished in record time as every owner was prepared and had great opening bids that eliminated so much wasted time getting to the desired winning bid number.

I honestly have never seen two auction leagues that went that quick or smoothly. Fantastic job by everyone and it's why we have to keep New York City intact because we can't lose die-hards like this.

Also, the MTM Ultimate Invitational League was a blast last night and we got national coverage on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio. Not only did they cover the first three hours of the draft, but they interviewed Mike Massotto, two-time defending champion Scott Fleming, NFBC Hall of Famer Steve Jupinka and David Einhorn. The exposure for our players and our contest is fantastic and we appreciate all that SiriusXM did to cover the event live from Dave & Busters, their first live broadcast since the pandemic.

Great stuff everyone. Let's do it again today at Dave & Busters. See you there for the 10 am and 2 pm Main Event leagues.

Our 20th Anniversary Season of Live Events in New York came to an end on Saturday and I wanted to say thank you to everyone who came out and joined us on Friday and Saturday and helped make it another wonderful weekend in the Big Apple. It may be a tad bit chilly here today but it was blazing hot with fun and excitement at Dave & Busters both days as we had terrific auctions and drafts both days. Like Greg said, everyone who attended was fully prepared and it was so much fun to watch these great competitors taking part in these fantastic leagues with so much riding on the season-long outcomes.

We are fully committed to two days of Live Events again in New York 2024 so you can all plan on that but for now again I can't thank you all enough for taking the time to come out and spend the weekend with us this year and making it a special part of our 20th Anniversary Season. As Greg and I have said throughout all these 20 years and Darik has as well since he joined the fray it's the Live Events that fuel everything we do and without them the NFBC (and NFFC) simply wouldn't be as much fun for us to run. We know it's a commitment on your part to come to a Live Event so we appreciate that you make that time and effort to join us. It really means a lot and the fact we've had 20 years in New York now and were able to celebrate it with such a wonderful two days this weekend was a great showcase of what the NFBC experience is all about.

So thanks again to everyone who joined us, best of luck to all of you in your New York leagues this year and I hope to see you all again in 2024. :)

And let's add: The Thursday night gathering was EPIC as well!!! Tom doesn't mention it because he can't remember all of that night, but I think we all stumbled back to our hotel rooms that night!! But no question, just a great kickoff to the weekend, so thanks to everyone who attended. Great stories from everyone.
