Lucas Biery Wins 2023 NFBC Online Auction Championship

Lucas Biery of Bloomington, Indiana won the third annual NFBC Online Auction Championship as he topped a record field of 840 teams to win the record $10,000 grand prize. This is the third straight year that this contest reached its max total of teams, which means we need to expect even more teams in 2024!!

Lucas competed in the March 22nd, 8 pm ET NFBC $150 Online Auction Championship League and he dominated that league by winning with 131.5 points (87.33%). He then won the overall title with 7,381.5 points, earning 90.96 percent of all available points. He finished 122 points ahead of Ante Meich in the overall competition as Ante earned $2,500 for his runner-up finish. Rounding out the Top 5 were Michael Forsberg ($2,000), Mike Rothe ($1,750) and Thomas Sanelli ($1,500). The Top 23 overall finishers earned cash prizes, while the Top 3 teams in each league earned prize money.

The 29-year-old champion got Corbin Carroll for $24, Gerrit Cole for $35, Bo Bichette for $34, Rafael Devers for $30 and Josh Jung for $6 as a nice foundation to his championship team. I'll post his complete auction results and FAAB pickups shortly. Lucas entered two NFBC $150 Auction Championship leagues and won both league titles, while finishing 1st and 44th overall. He also won an NFBC $50 Draft Champions league title, an NFBC $150 Draft Champions League title and an On The Wire Pod Listener League title, while finishing third overall in that contest. He cashed in seven of his 11 NFBC pay leagues this year, so great job Lucas.

This contest has great potential as the last three years have shown and we will try to make it even bigger and better in 2024.
