Gruber & Little Win 2023 NFBC Diamond Challenge Titles

Doug Gruber of Troy, Michigan won the 2023 NFBC Diamond Challenge Roto Championship and the $30,000 grand prize, but he did even better than that. He also had the second place team to win another $7,500 prize. This is Doug's first Diamond Challenge overall title as this contest goes all the way back to 1993.

Doug had only two Diamond Challenge Roto entries and he obviously won both of his league titles and those $1,700 league prizes. He finished with 134 points with his championship team and his runner-up team finished with 125 points. Great job Doug.

We finished with a total of 495 teams in the Roto Championship and we paid the Top 3 teams in each 15-team league and we paid the Top 14 overall. Here's the final 2023 NFBC Diamond Challenge Roto standings:

The Diamond Challenge goes all the way back to 1993 when CDM Fantasy Sports started this national championship. It has a great history as one of the premiere contest in the industry and Doug Gruber now joins a select list of Roto champions. Dean Little of Shelburne, Ontario won the 2023 NFBC Diamond Challenge Points Championship and the $15,000 grand prize as he finished a solid year with four teams in the Top 8 overall. Dean's teams finished 1st, 4th, 5th and 8th overall as we paid the Top 10 overall and the Top 3 in each league.

Dean actually had six teams in the Top 20 and 10 teams in the Top 37 overall. He won six Points league titles and three Diamond Challenge Roto league titles, finishing as high as fourth overall in the Roto Championship. Well done Dean.

This is Dean's second Diamond Challenge Points Championship overall title as he won this title in 2019. He is now the first two-time national champion of the Diamond Challenge Points Championship. He also won the Diamond Challenge Roto Championship title in 2020. That's pretty impressive. Dean finished 46 points ahead of Tim Coy, with Bob Catsiroumpas finishing third.

We had a total of 375 teams in the Diamond Challenge Points Championship this year and will return in 2024 with the Roto and Points Championships. Here's a look at the final Points standings from 2023:

Daniel Kobold of Avon, Indiana won the 2023 NFBC Diamond Challenge Roto 2nd Season Championship and that $5,000 grand prize. Daniel had only one entry and he turned that into the $1,100 league prize and the $5,000 grand prize.

Daniel finished 60 points ahead of Chris Metz for the title with Patrick Gagne finishing third overall. Rounding out the Top 5 were Little and Dennis Massa.
