855 Teams Now In The 2024 NFBC Main Event

The NFBC Main Event started in 2004 with a guaranteed grand prize of $100,000 based on 300 teams at $1,250 per team. It was a lofty goal, but I felt the market could support a national contest with 300 teams at that price point and away we went.

Well, as you all know by now, the industry wasn't quite ready for a high-stakes fantasy baseball championship with all live events in 2004. But we finished with 195 teams between Las Vegas, New York City and Chicago and guaranteed the prize money anyway. The season was so much fun that heading into the final Saturday of MLB games, we had a tie for first place in the overall standings between Artie Rastelli and Aaron Seefeldt. Artie won the title two days later and we were certain that this Main Event thing had some legs to it.

We sold out all 300 teams in the 2005 Main Event and we've sold out the Main Event every year since then. In fact, we've had 19 straight sellouts of the Main Event and I think we can make it 20 in a row this year.

As of today, we have over 600 teams entered into the 2024 NFBC Main Event with a goal of hitting 795 teams. With less than 200 guaranteed spots left, it's a good idea to secure your spots soon because once certain dates and times fill we are going to take them off Registration. We are ECSTATIC with the response this year and we think the debut Champions League Qualifier Championship has contributed to the strong early response to the Main Event.

Now, can we hit 795 teams again and sell out for the 20th straight season? We'll find out soon. We also have to fit teams in perfectly into 15-team leagues as a lot of people are moving around on a daily basis. When we get to 15 teams on a certain date and are close enough to the draft date, we are creating those leagues and locking in those teams. Plan accordingly because once those leagues are created those teams are locked in.

We now have 52 full NFBC Main Event leagues and over 780 teams signed up. Every league filled perfectly, but WE'RE NOT DONE YET!!!

I know you're seeing a lot of 0 of 15 or 2 of 15 leagues right now, but there's no question in my mind that we can still fill some leagues over the next four days. We already have two Main Event leagues on Thursday at 9 am, but we had three leagues at that time last year and I'm confident we'll get at least one more this year.

We have a start on the Monday night Main and we've added new offerings on Tuesday and Wednesday night. Lead the way with a signup for any of those today and once the momentum gets going you know they will sell out. Let's keep things going and sell the Main Event out for the 20th straight year.

Prizes are based on 53 leagues and 795 teams. Just set your KDS preferences after signing up and look for draft spots within the hour of the league being created.
