Satellite bashing

First year in the NFBC (and only one prior year's experience in a 5X5), I thought it prudent to test the waters (and the format) by entering a satellite league.

I read all the bashing like the satellites are second class citizens.

Not for anything, but my league has GLY, BillyWazz and last year's football main event winner, Ted's(I don't know baseball)Cracked Head!

And probably another ringer oor two that I still haven't realized!

Hey Greg, how many ringers are in my satellite football?

Hey Greg, how many ringers are in my satellite football? The beauty of that league is that we might actually have converted some of those die-hard football guys to try our baseball main event league next year. I know they're all having fun, but I know they all again realize that this damn fantasy baseball game is a marathon that loses their attention when training camps get close!! : Good luck down the stretch.

The satellite leagues have strong competition and it's not fair for anyone to compare one league against another. Yes, it's different and our best of the best probably are in the main event, but every NFBC title won is a title earned. I'm glad you're having fun and I trust you're enjoying your experience.

All of those ringers are in multiple NFFC satellite leagues, so good luck if you go against them over there.

Hey Greg, how many ringers are in my satellite football? Atlas- I think it is obvious the satellite leagues are much weaker, all you have to do is look at questionable drops every week- about 80% of them come from satellite leagues.

With that said- winning (especially the higher dollar satellites) is nothing to sneeze at. I also think that while the satellites are weaker that many people you probably included who are only in satellites would do quite well in the main event. I hope you make the jump and join the main in 08.

I agree with both points- every week I see the difference in ATTENTION that people pay to the samller $ leagues. People just don't work as hard on the smaller leagues. I know that I don't. I only have limited time and it takes alot of time to search players, place bids, etc...

Having said that, every league I am in, whether $250 or $1250 is very competitive, much more competitive than any home leagues I have played in. For example, there are tons of highly rated 'playas' in my $250 auction satellite.

Do the $5k ultimates count as satellites? I would put them in a different grouping, that is for sure
