NFBC Message Boards

I just posted this on our NFFC Message Boards to address how we'll handle NFFC Primetime draft boards this year. Read it with the NFFC in mind, but realize that we will also do all of this in the NFBC in 2025:


One of the controversies in the NFBC this past spring was the availability of seeing draft boards of the Main Event early in the season. The NFBC doesn't provide those draft boards to the public, but apparently there is a lot of board sharing among groups of NFBC participants.

Some owners thought that was an unfair advantage, especially since we don't update the ADPs for each individual contest until five drafts are completed. We do this because we don't want people to see individual draft boards where possibly they could "scout" an individual's draft. We have always provided draft orders on the Message Boards for the Main Event and Primetimes and thus showcasing ADPs after one or only two drafts would likely expose some owners' top targeted players.

But the controversy got so loud that it spilled over to Twitter and one owner even tried to expose another owners' picks to get him back for board sharing. But before he could do that, the other owner just listed all of his Main Event picks himself. When that happened, it was time for us to step in and change some things, so here are the changes going forward, not only for the NFFC Primetime in 2024 but for the NFBC as well starting in 2025:

1) First of all, we aren't listing draft orders anymore for any contest. I know in the past people were interested in the spots that other owners got, but it's lost all of its usefulness going forward. Draft Orders for the Primetime or Main Event are no longer being posted on the Message Boards.

2) ADPs for any individual contest for any sport now starts after THREE finished drafts. So the NFFC Primetime ADPs will become available after the third Primetime draft.

3) And going forward, the NFC will now post full draft boards randomly throughout the drafting season. It seems unfair that some select groups of owners can share boards amongst themselves, so it makes sense for the NFFC and NFBC to just post Primetime and Main Event boards ourselves for all to see. We will do this on Twitter and on a special page on our Discord channel. This way everyone has access to the same information throughout the drafting season. And who knows, by publishing these finished draft boards it may spread the word about our contests and lure some other people to draft later in the season.

We welcome all thoughts on this new strategy, but we just felt it was time to take charge of our data and to let everyone have it, just like we did with our ADPs about six years ago. Make the data available and let everyone figure out how to use it. And if you really want to draft before any of this data is available, then jump into that contest's first or second draft because we definitely won't showcase anything before they are done.

I wanted to repost this thread again since we initiated this in June before the NFFC Primetime drafts. As I stated above, we are going to do this same thing for the NFBC in 2025 and post full Main Event draft boards on our Twitter and Discord accounts. It was easy to do for football and we'll do it again for baseball.

ADPs for the Main Event will be publicly available after the first THREE Main Event leagues are completed. But we will randomly post full draft boards throughout the Main Event drafting season and that will include those first few drafts. We will not list who is drafting in what spot anymore as that information has more than gone past its usefulness.

Anyway, look at the post above, understand how we are handling Main Event draft boards this year and plan accordingly. The ADPs, draft boards and other information will be available to everyone at the same time and then may the best team owner win the $250,000 grand prize.

Good luck everyone. Oh, and we are starting the Main Event a few days earlier than last year, so if you really do like to be in the first Main Event leagues check out Saturday, March 8th and the week of March 8-14. Could be some fun!!!

Just a reminder that the NFBC will be posting public draft boards of all Main Event leagues this year so that everyone has access to this information. We will be posting these on our Discord and Twitter channels. The ADPs for the Main Event will start appearing after three full drafts are completed. The NFBC is handling this and all boards will have owners' names hidden.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for any player to post draft boards with owners' names on after drafts are done. What is the purpose of that? Why would anyone decide to include those rather than just retweet our public draft board? It's certainly not to share information of where players are going in Main drafts before the ADPs are released because we are already going to be doing that. Again, the NFBC will control that data and we hope that all players will respect that.

We can't control what you do after drafts are done, but this is a tight-knit community and there is absolutely no reason for one person to do something that others aren't doing. Respect your peers and if you need a public draft board without names to show the world and you want to point out which team is yours, then contact us and we'll help you get a public draft board. But we see absolutely no reason for anyone to showcase owners' names that were in their league with three weeks of Main Event drafts still to go.

. Since many cliques share that information. We have had this discussion in the past I’m glad that you think posting the boards solves the issue, it does not. I’m also glad that certain owners cry to you about it. That does not sway me. You can’t control which people share boards with others after their draft, and you’re right you can’t control whether I post the boards with names. You can try to shame me, but you tried that last year already.

My mother and few remaining aunts and uncles call me Daniel. Which tells me you don’t know me well. Though we have met. But I appreciate your input, and I’ll take under advisement.

Since you're the only one doing this Dan, then it's obvious why you're the only one who thinks I was shaming anyone with that post. I wasn't. It's a note to let everyone know we will be posting early draft boards so that people do have the same information available if they want it without exposing who drafted which player. But you have this fixation on exposing everyone's early picks and you are right, I can't stop you from doing it. The people who were already signed up for that first league before you changed your TBD to that time slot right at the end didn't know you were going to do it, but I guess they do now. Nice surprise for them.
